Chapter 6
The Ancient Magic Armor
Wizette turned and flew up a short distance, reaching the corridor outside Lockhart's office. This was where he had just heard the strange sound.
He adjusted his breathing, cast the "Keeper's Meditation Method," and released the "Ancient Magic: Shield," wanting to hear clearly what that voice was saying.
The surroundings instantly became silent, so quiet that one could almost hear a silver needle falling to the ground.
In such a quiet environment, the various movements inside Hogwarts Castle became even more distinct.
Wizette seemed to hear a cat's meow. The only cat that could meow at this hour was likely Mrs. Norris.
"Wand! Someone dropped their wand again... let me try the spell from the Kwikspell course... Lumos! Why isn't it working? Damn it! This is a stuffed toy!"
It was the irritated voice of Filch, the caretaker.
A faint snicker could be heard, sounding like Fred and George.
There was also the clattering sound of metal clashing, likely Peeves knocking over a suit of armor.
"I am truly too magnificent! Magnificent! I am truly too outstanding! Outstanding! I am truly too wonderful! Wonderful! Gilderoy at his peak!"
"I am truly too talented! Talented! I am truly too clever! Clever! I am too exceptional! Exceptional! Gilderoy at his peak..."
Wizette shuddered, feeling as if his mind had been polluted, and instinctively canceled the "Keeper's Meditation Method."
In the office not far away, Lockhart was singing loudly, and the portraits were not idle either, singing the chorus in unison.
The cold and malicious voice did not reappear, making Wizette wonder if he had just hallucinated.
...
"Here, our time is engraved..."
Wizette chanted a spell at the redwood cabinet. With a series of clicks, the gears on the cabinet began to turn, transforming into a metal door that slowly swung open.
Familiar with the path, Wizette quickly went down the stairs, crossed the warehouse-like room, and with the help of his Magic Eye, found a silver-blue light dancing in the corner.
Pulling the silver-blue light, a tall and majestic mirror appeared before him.
Wizette stepped through the mirror, descending a stone platform inside, and once again saw that exquisite brass door.
Without stopping, he walked down a short flight of stairs and arrived at another small stone platform.
A sheer cliff, like a screen, appeared before him, plunging straight into the abyss. Just looking down a few times felt like being swallowed by the void.
The abyss beneath the cliff stretched from the skylight like a sharp blade, reaching straight up, where the brilliant Milky Way could be faintly seen outside.
Tiny specks of light, as if drawn to the cliff, emitted a faint glow and fell, finally resting on a stone platform, illuminating the silhouette of a gateway.
Wizette narrowed his eyes slightly, seeing countless exquisite reliefs above the gateway. The branches in the reliefs stretched upward, converging at a giant swirling crystal.
The crystal was the size of a human head, with a faint silver-blue light swirling lazily inside.
Wizette raised his wand, quietly drawing ancient magic power from his core, letting it fly from the tip of his wand toward the crystal.
The silver-blue light in the crystal seemed to awaken, its flow suddenly quickening.
The stone platform beneath Wizette's feet trembled slightly, extending a brass path that connected to the opposite platform.
"Still, I should be careful... I can't be late for the lecture."
He cast "Primal Power: Silent Combustion State (Beginner)," and his body hovered in midair.
To prevent any accidents and ensure he wouldn't miss Snape's private lecture, he didn't walk directly on the brass path but flew to the opposite platform.
He encountered no obstacles along the way. The silver-blue light on the crystal flared like a flame, dancing slightly as if welcoming him.
Another section of the map in his mind lit up. Wizette casually gathered the ancient magic power and entered the grand hall behind the gateway.
The grand hall was also majestic, adorned with reliefs everywhere, along with four alcoves holding suits of armor. In the center of these four alcoves, another closed gateway appeared.
The moment Wizette stepped into the hall, the suits of armor in the alcoves began to shake. Amidst the continuous clashing of metal, they stood up and quickly lunged toward him.
The appearance of these suits of armor felt very familiar to Wizette. They were controlled by ancient magic, with a gentle silver-blue light flowing at their joints.
The ancient magic armors held various weapons—either two-handed greatswords, spiked maces, battleaxes, or war hammers.
These armors attacked swiftly. One of them took the lead, suddenly throwing the battleaxe in its hand, creating a whistling sound in the air.
Wizette quickly scanned the four suits of armor. With the help of the "Keeper's Meditation Method," he formulated a counterstrategy.
"Ancient Magic: Instant Shield"!
He raised his wand, and the magic shield instantly deployed, colliding with the incoming battleaxe and producing a deep, heavy sound like a temple bell.
"Accio Battleaxe!"
Affected by the Summoning Charm, the battleaxe broke free from its original momentum and flew toward Wizette once more.
"Ancient Magic: Throwing Mastery"!
Ancient magic power was drawn from his silent core, hidden within the battleaxe by Wizette.
He flicked his wand, and the battleaxe changed direction, hurtling straight toward the armor holding the two-handed greatsword.
This armor swung its greatsword, intending to use the weapon to shield itself.
Wizette did not give it the chance. He actively "detonated" the hidden ancient magic power, and the battleaxe erupted with a silver-blue light.
*Slash!*
The battleaxe struck the chest of the greatsword-wielding armor. The armor trembled and suddenly shattered, turning into tiny, glittering specks of ancient magic.
"One down! Hah!"
Wizette gently swirled his wand, using "Ancient Magic: Swift Lightning" to dodge the incoming spiked mace, widening the distance between himself and the remaining three armors.
Ancient magic power was drawn from his core, converging into an extremely dazzling bolt of lightning that struck the weaponless armor, destroying it directly.
"Two left."
"Ancient Magic: Self-Shaping (Devil's Snare Form)"!
Wizette's fingers transformed into Devil's Snare, striking like venomous serpents. They quickly slithered across the ground, soon wrapping around the legs of the two armors and pulling them together.
"Hah!"
Another bolt of lightning flared, and all the armor in the hall vanished. The glittering specks of ancient magic gathered and merged into the gateway between the alcoves.
Cánh cổng ở giữa từ từ mở ra, để lộ một bệ đá mới.
Two more suits of ancient magic armor appeared on either side of the platform. After Wizette dealt with them, he noticed an alcove on the cliffside.
Inside the alcove was an exquisitely carved metal chest. Through the gaps, he could faintly see faint specks of light inside, resembling the glow of crystals.
"Perhaps something Serena and the others hid here?"
Wizette's time was limited. He didn't pay attention to the items in the chest, continuing deeper into the Keeper's Secret Chamber.
He planned to explore this place thoroughly before considering other matters...
