Transmigrating to Ancient Times: A Farming Record

First Acquaintance

Chapter 23

First Acquaintance

The moon over the mountain was bright and round, its light pouring down like water, bathing the entire valley in a silver glow.

Lin Ye jumped down from Yang’s back, using the gentle moonlight to clearly see the appearance of the valley. It was clearly a very beautiful landscape, but she widened her eyes in disbelief. This place—this place was clearly Shangshi Village; how had it turned into the Miao Tribe?! Before entering the mountains, their scientific research team had stayed in Shangshi Village for one night, and she was extremely impressed by the terrain here.

She couldn't help but take a few steps forward. Ahead was a massive ancient banyan tree, so large that it would take three people to encircle its trunk. She still remembered they had taken several photos here! Thinking of this, Lin Ye immediately pulled her phone out of her backpack. The banyan tree in the photo was identical to the one in front of her! Additionally, she had taken many photos in Shangshi Village, and the scenery in the photos matched the surroundings perfectly.

It was true; the Miao Tribe was Shangshi Village! Lin Ye closed her eyes, finally accepting this truth. She had somehow strangely transmigrated to another world, and all the previous oddities finally had an explanation.

She spent most of her time reading and researching, and was completely ignorant of popular transmigration novels; even the word "transmigration" was something she had heard while others were chatting, so at first, she hadn't considered it at all. But now all the signs forced her to admit that she had come to another world.

She didn't even know how she had transmigrated; it was as if she had just turned her head and the whole world had changed. Absurd, unbelievable—all sorts of feelings surfaced in Lin Ye’s mind, but happiness was the only one that didn't appear. She feared that anyone who suddenly transmigrated back to the ancient era of beastmen would not feel happy.

Fortunately, she had mentally prepared herself along the way, so at this moment she didn't find it too difficult to accept, and her emotions didn't collapse. After accepting that she had transmigrated, Lin Ye’s first thought was to find a way to transmigrate back. She had probably transmigrated while examining that small red flower; perhaps by going back there, she would find a way to return. If she couldn't find a way back, then she could only leave it to fate! Even if she felt uneasy, she had to force herself to stay calm. But in her heart, Lin Ye refused to accept this possibility.

Yang didn't know Lin Ye’s thoughts. He told the other beastmen to process the prey first, while he would take Lin Ye to find the Chief. Bringing a strange female back to the tribe must be reported to the Chief.

Many fires were lit in the open space at the front of the valley, and the beastmen of the Miao Tribe were gathered around the fires preparing their dinner. Seeing Yang return with a female, they only looked at her curiously and didn't rush forward to talk.

Yang led her to a small, dark cave and shouted inside, "Father, Mother, are you both there?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" In a moment, a middle-aged male beastman with long, messy hair like Yang’s and a thick beard stepped out of the cave. The beastman saw Lin Ye standing beside Yang and was slightly startled, looking at Yang questioningly.

"Yang, this is!"

"Lin Ye, this is my Father; he is also the Chief of the Miao Tribe, Huo." When Yang introduced his Father to Lin Ye, he was a bit embarrassed; after all, this was the first time he had brought his partner home. Fortunately, it was already dusk, and combined with his thick beard, his blushing face couldn't be seen.

"Father, this is the small female I picked up in the forest today, named Lin Ye." Then he briefly explained how he had "picked up" Lin Ye.

Lin Ye hadn't expected Yang to be the Chief’s son; this was beyond her expectations. No wonder the beastmen today had all followed his orders.

"Greetings, my name is Lin Ye." Lin Ye greeted the Chief awkwardly using the language she had just learned today. As the Chief, his prestige among the other beastmen was quite high; she didn't know how long she would have to stay in this world, so having a good relationship with him was extremely important.

The Chief glanced at Lin Ye, clasped his hands, and nodded to her, then turned back to Yang: "Since she is the girl you brought back, then you should arrange a place for her to stay."

"I know, Father."

Yang led her a short distance to a cave near the edge of the valley. He pursed his lips and said to her, "This is my cave; you can stay here for now." His cave was a bit smaller than the others; he didn't know if the female would mind.

Lin Ye didn't really care where she stayed, but if she lived in his cave, where would he live? She felt that Yang had helped her a lot, and she couldn't just take over his cave and leave him with nowhere to stay; after all, she had a sleeping bag, and sleeping anywhere at night was the same.

"Yang, I don't need it; I can just find any place to stay!" Lin Ye’s voice grew smaller as she spoke because she could clearly feel the pressure around Yang dropping.

"Do you dislike my cave for being too small?"

Lin Ye was stunned for a moment, then immediately denied it: "No, no, how could I dislike your cave for being too small?" He had helped her so much already; she couldn't be more grateful, so how could she dislike it? Besides, she didn't even know how large his cave was.

"I just thought it would be too much trouble for you, and if I live in your cave, where will you live?"

So the small female didn't dislike his cave, but was worried about him having no place to stay. Yang’s mood instantly improved, and he said, "It's fine, I'll move in with Shi; you sleep here."

After saying that, without giving Lin Ye a chance to refuse, he turned and ran off. After a few steps, he turned back to say to her, "Rest first; I'll bring your things to you in a bit."

Lin Ye smiled and thanked him, "Yang, thank you."

Yang only felt his body heating up, his whole face burning. He turned his head and shouted, "There's nothing to thank me for!" Then he strode away.

Although this small female was a bit naive and innocent, when she smiled, she was actually quite nice!
