Chapter 7
Heart-Stopping Medical Arts
The image on the sky screen still featured a man and a woman. This time, the man spoke first.
"Doctor, you look beautiful today!" The man praised.
The female doctor, head bowed, gently patting his hand, calmly replied: "It's useless to compliment my beauty; this needle still has to go in."
The man choked, then awkwardly asked: "Doctor, I've lost a tooth. Will it affect the prescription?"
The doctor still didn't look up, replying indifferently: "No effect, it's just that when you boast, you'll definitely whistle."
The man froze, while the common people of various dynasties burst into laughter, clutching their bellies. This man was clearly nervous and trying to make conversation, but his way of changing the subject was truly unnatural. Looking at the injection needle in the doctor's hand, even the onlookers shivered.
The image changed, still a man and a woman. The Ancestors began to wonder: "Could it be that in later generations, only women can be doctors? Why haven't we seen any male doctors so far?" Some even speculated wildly that these men were feigning illness just to meet female doctors.
The man in the video sighed and asked: "Doctor, aren't you done with the injection yet?"
The female doctor smiled and replied: "Almost done."
"How many injections have you given?"
The doctor began to count: "One, two, three... nine injections."
The man sighed again: "Alright, please continue."
Looking at the man's hand, full of needle marks, the common people couldn't help but shiver, feeling that being a doctor was a truly terrifying profession. Ancient physicians hastily clarified: "Don't listen to the sky screen's nonsense; we practice medicine to save people properly, never like this!"
Finally, the man asked: "Doctor, is your surname Li?"
"Why Li?" The doctor was surprised.
"Li, the one who really needles (Li Zhen Zhen / Li, really painful). Look at my hand, aren't you embarrassed?"
"I told you I'm new! You have to give people a chance to practice!"
Everyone was horrified upon hearing this, realizing that patients were being used for practice! They secretly vowed never to offend a doctor in the future, lest they be pricked to pieces. The man in the video still tried to keep his spirits up: "It's alright, I'm from Tibet, my name is Zha Bu Si (Zha, cannot die from injections). Next time, I'll choose you to practice on again!"
In the next image, a beautiful female nurse pushed a cart into the patient's room. The man lying on the bed exclaimed: "Nurse, you're wearing your pants backward!"
The female doctor glanced at him and ignored it. The man anxiously repeated: "You're wearing your pants backward!"
The Ancestors shook their heads in exasperation: "This young man truly has no discernment. If she's wearing them backward, she's wearing them backward. Is she supposed to change in front of you? No wonder he's still single!"
Witnessing a series of videos about the youth of later generations, the Ancestors could only sigh, lowering their expectations to the absolute minimum: "As long as these young people are still alive, that's good enough. Other things can be considered later."
