Hogwarts: Starting with Luna's Family, Striving for Godhood

Wizarding Passport

Chapter 48

Wizarding Passport

"And there's Headmaster Dumbledore as well, with that marvelous Shield Charm!"

Wizette was also looking forward to this spell, as it was connected to ancient magic.

Who knew? Once he mastered the Shield Charm, perhaps it could combine with the *Wizard's Field Guide* to spark something entirely new.

Xenophilius sat in the middle, glancing toward Wizette.

Shortly after, he thought to himself: *This child... what is he doing? Is he listing his study plans for the next school year again?*

*What is this! Why do I feel Pandora's shadow in him? And these names...*

*Aside from Snape tutoring him privately, even Headmaster Dumbledore is preparing to... Is this ultimately a good thing or not?*

He shuddered slightly, looking solemnly at Luna. "My dear, don't push yourself too hard. You must balance work and rest... No, wait! You must rest more and have fun!"

"Eh?" Luna tilted her head, looking at Xenophilius's serious face, but still nodded. "You must also remember to rest more, Dad."

She leaned forward, looking at Wizette who was still reading his notebook, and said softly, "I'll make sure he gets plenty of rest too..."

"I hope so!" Looking at Luna's serious demeanor, Xenophilius sighed inwardly.

Then again, Luna was actually more like Pandora, with a mind full of strange ideas and a love for researching everything herself.

With Wizette's current research momentum, who knew if the two of them would end up huddling together to study bizarre magical knowledge?

Xenophilius recalled the Pandora of the past, a girl full of curiosity and rich ideas.

To be with Pandora, he had wagered his entire fortune to found *The Quibbler*, specializing in collecting all sorts of bizarre tales to capture Pandora's attention.

That was probably the happiest time he had ever experienced.

Every day, he would go to Pandora's side, telling her the newly collected stories and making her laugh...

"Pandora," thinking of this, Xenophilius's nose suddenly tingled, his voice as faint as a mosquito's buzz. "I miss you!"

Luna reached out with both hands, grasping Xenophilius's large hand. "Dad!"

"There might be some kind of potion here!" Seeing Luna's concerned gaze, Xenophilius said hoarsely, "I've been here too long, so the potion has taken effect on me!"

Luna nodded repeatedly. "Then let's finish the passports and leave quickly, and then we can ask Wizette to brew an antidote for you."

"Brew an antidote?" Wizette looked up, wrinkling his nose to sniff. "There doesn't seem to be any strange smell..."

"If it's truly an emergency, we can try a bezoar first. This stone taken from a goat's stomach has a very strong detoxicating effect!"

"Uh... a goat's stomach stone?" Seeing Wizette's serious face, Xenophilius's expression stiffened. "Actually, just like last night... getting some fresh air outside should do the trick."

Luna said with relief, "That's good then. Don't push yourself too hard, Dad!"

...

The process of applying for a passport was tedious but not complicated, mostly involving submitting various documents and answering questions under the supervision of an Auror and a very small dose of Veritaserum.

With an Auror present, the Ministry of Magic staff simply followed protocol, cross-checking documents while asking the applicant to recount the details to ensure the authenticity of the information.

Precisely because of Veritaserum, dark wizards who had committed crimes would definitely not apply for a wizarding passport, avoiding confessing their own misdeeds and being apprehended by the Auror.

After completing the series of procedures, Wizette and the others received not only a passport but also a blank card.

The passport was stamped with the Ministry of Magic's "M" seal; with a careful feel, one could detect the magic hidden within.

The blank card looked like a small mirror and could indeed reflect images, though it didn't seem as magical as the Mirror of Erised.

After an explanation from the Ministry staff, Wizette finally understood the wonder of this card.

For wizards, this blank card was indeed only usable as a mirror.

But when a Muggle held the card, they would see it as a passport—a passport that could circulate in the Muggle world.

The magical principle behind it was very interesting, utilizing at least a very weak form of Legilimency and some revealing charms.

The weak Legilimency had almost no effect on wizards, but was just enough for Muggles, projecting the corresponding appearance based on the image of a passport in the Muggle's mind.

One just had to be careful with its usage; before presenting the card, they needed to state their name beforehand so the passport would display the corresponding information.

...

Through this trip, Xenophilius regained his confidence.

He proudly led Luna and Wizette onto a Muggle bus back to the Leaky Cauldron, then used the Floo Network to return home.

After receiving Luna's praise of "Dad, you're amazing," the corners of his mouth curled up and stayed there.

That smug look made Wizette a bit worried about whether the muscles in his face would lock up.

The morning trip to the Ministry of Magic had been rather rushed, so Xenophilius hadn't had time to stew any food.

Wizette took the opportunity to suggest making magical bread.

His fire-control skills were still far below Dumbledore's level.

The crust of the magical bread this time fell far short of his expectations; the blackened crust could leave dark marks on one's hands.

On the bright side, he had successfully incorporated his morning idea into the dough, baking a simplified version of owl-shaped bread.

Even because the fire wasn't well-controlled, the color on the back of the owl bread bore a slight resemblance to the brown feathers of a real owl.

Even so, Luna and Xenophilius were highly supportive. After tearing away the dry, burnt crust, they still took large bites, which touched Wizette deeply.

But what caught him completely unprepared was that after eating the bread, both Luna and Xenophilius's eyes turned red simultaneously.

Xenophilius sobbed, stuffing bread into his mouth while mumbling incoherently, "Pan... dora, I... miss you!"

Luna also sobbed, wiping her cheek with her fingers, which instantly left black and white streaks on her face, making her look like a tearful short-haired kitten.

Wizette knelt on one knee beside Luna, asking in a slight panic, "Is... is there something wrong?"

"It's delicious..." Luna shook her head gently. "I can even feel Mum's care from within the bread."

"Mum's care?" Wizette frowned slightly, feeling somewhat relieved that nothing bad had happened.

He looked at Luna's streaked face, his lips twitching slightly in amusement.

Luna seemed to have calmed down. Blinking her large, innocent eyes, she asked softly, "Is there something on my face?"

Wizette nodded, took out the blank card, and held it in front of Luna...
