Chapter 4
Dare to Be Heartless
After having dinner, with such a woman around, he was too lazy to run around.
Once night fell, they locked the main gate and hid in Wang Yonggui's room. The bed had already been repaired. They pulled down the curtains, held each other tightly, and whispered sweet nothings. Fearing others might hear them, they simply embraced and lived in quiet bliss. It was an incredibly comfortable and dreamlike existence.
However, out of consideration for Wang Yonggui, Yang Qiuju didn't do those things tonight. They merely slept in each other's arms, fearing they might harm Wang Yonggui's physical foundation.
Early the next morning, Wang Yonggui went next door to ask Zhang Dazhu for help. From upstairs, they retrieved the threshing tub—a square wooden tub used for threshing millet, over two meters wide and over a meter high. When harvesting millet, one would hold the stalks and strike them hard against the wooden board inside so the grains would fall into the tub.
Not only Wang Yonggui, but other households were also preparing in this manner. After all, it was only used once a year, so it was covered in cobwebs upstairs. They brought it downstairs and began to clean it. Right after, they went to sharpen the sickles, preparing to start the work tomorrow.
After sharpening all the sickles, he prepared to take Yang Qiuju to Qingyang Town to buy some meat and good food to store. Threshing millet was exhausting work, so they had to eat well.
Just then, Su Wanhe and Er Lingzi entered the courtyard. Su Wanhe was still a bit shy and embarrassed, especially when she saw Yang Qiuju.
"Wanhe, come inside and have a seat!"
Yang Qiuju proactively welcomed her. Seeing Su Wanhe's bashful appearance, she looked just like a newlywed bride, full of hesitation. Since there were things that couldn't be overheard by others, she invited her into the house.
Su Wanhe nodded and followed her inside. Er Lingzi stood in the courtyard, watching an army of ants, occasionally letting out a silly laugh.
With the two women together, Wang Yonggui felt a bit awkward, so he stayed in the courtyard, squatting on the ground with Er Lingzi. Wang Yonggui's gaze occasionally drifted to Er Lingzi. This guy was still a bit foolish. He heard that after cutting wood for the past day or two, Er Lingzi always ran to Gouxiong Ridge to plant and tend to some trees by himself. Suddenly, he felt Er Lingzi seemed a bit different.
Er Lingzi was still foolish, not much different from before, but there was an indescribable trace of spiritual energy about him.
The two women chatted in the living room for a while before Yang Qiuju called out from inside.
"Wang Yonggui, come in for a moment. We have something to discuss with you."
"Okay!"
Wang Yonggui turned his head and responded, standing up to leave. Er Lingzi giggled.
"Wang Yonggui, do you want to go plant trees with me tomorrow? Planting trees is really fun."
"I'm not going. I have to thresh millet tomorrow. Why don't you come help me harvest millet?"
Er Lingzi looked at Wang Yonggui with a bewildered expression.
"I'll give you candy to eat."
"Okay! Okay!"
Hearing there was candy, Er Lingzi smiled foolishly and happily agreed.
Wang Yonggui then turned and walked into the living room, finding Su Wanhe and Yang Qiuju standing there, clearly discussing something. As soon as he walked in and saw them, both women looked incredibly voluptuous and mature. One was as charming as a seductive temptress.
The other was dignified and elegant, the very image of a virtuous wife and loving mother. Her beautiful oval face was exceptionally lovely, currently glowing with a rosy flush that was incredibly alluring. Her aura made her look like a holy mother.
As the two women stood facing each other, they looked like two majestic peaks confronting one another, their chests exceptionally full and voluptuous. Yang Qiuju's was almost heaven-defying, a massive mound. Su Wanhe was not far behind, her collar also stretched tight and bulging.
Wang Yonggui knew they were different. Yang Qiuju was like a hearty main course, yet also somewhat like a young maiden, breathtakingly stunning. Su Wanhe was similar but softer, showing only a very slight trace of the passage of time.
Wang Yonggui walked over, and both women turned to look at him. Wang Yonggui walked up to Su Wanhe. She was wearing dark grey trousers, and her rear was as round and majestic as a basketball, tightly wrapped.
Wang Yonggui went behind her, reached out to wrap his arm tightly around her slender waist, and intentionally pressed himself close. In front of Yang Qiuju, Su Wanhe's face flushed red. She was clearly very embarrassed, squirming and slapping his hand away, but she couldn't break free from his tight embrace.
Standing opposite them, Yang Qiuju let out a seductive, teasing smile.
"It's fine, you're Yonggui's wife now anyway."
Su Wanhe still said shyly: "Yonggui, with your Aunt Qiuju right here, can't you be a bit more low-key?"
Wang Yonggui grinned wickedly and said nothing.
"Aunt Wanhe, what did you need me for?"
Hearing his question, Su Wanhe stopped struggling in his arms. She quietly and intentionally arched her hips back slightly. It was hard to believe that the number one beauty of Shili Baxiang, Su Wanhe, had turned into this. It seemed she had truly been spoiled or trained by Wang Yonggui.
"Yonggui, everyone in Shili Baxiang is preparing to thresh millet. But I'm a lone woman and can't even carry the wooden tub. Er Lingzi's head isn't right, so he can't help either. I came to find you. I want you to help me thresh mine after you finish your own."
Wang Yonggui leaned his head close to Su Wanhe's ear and whispered with a laugh.
"Don't be shy. I'm your husband now, so your business is my business. Let's do it together! Tomorrow, you come help me harvest millet. Once we finish my house, we'll go do yours."
Su Wanhe nodded, but then hesitated: "If our two households work together, will others suspect us? Will they guess our relationship?"
Hearing this, Wang Yonggui nodded and asked: "No one knows about your divorce from Tan Ankang, right?"
"Probably not."
"Then it's fine. You help my house, and I'll help yours. If anyone asks, just say you paid a little money to hire me!"
Su Wanhe finally nodded: "Mm! That works."
Wang Yonggui embraced Su Wanhe from behind while looking up at Yang Qiuju, instructing both women.
"You two are so beautiful, you make my heart flutter, and your skin is getting fairer and lovelier. When we go thresh millet tomorrow, remember to wear straw hats and use scarves to cover your faces and necks so you don't get sunburned. Otherwise, if your skin turns dark and yellow, I might get tired of you. If I go back to the big city and see those fair, jade-like girls, I might regret choosing you two."
Hearing this, both women felt a pang of anxiety. They both thought to themselves that they should find some long sleeves and wide-brimmed hats, and use towels to cover their faces so they wouldn't get sunburned.
Despite thinking so, Yang Qiuju pretended to be angry.
"Wang Yonggui, if you dare to be so heartless, I won't let you off. Besides, we're older, and we've told you many times, yet you said you wouldn't regret it. It's too late to regret now. Watch out, or I'll bring a pair of scissors tonight."
Wang Yonggui laughed sheepishly, and Yang Qiuju continued.
"Su Wanhe is the number one beauty of Shili Baxiang, and you've already tricked her into bed. Do you still dare to regret?"
"Hahaha! I was just joking with you two! You actually took it seriously."
