Chapter 8
What Are You Looking At?
Lin Die intended to use this thatch grass to weave straw shoes.
In ancient times, when the common people were poor and had no money to buy shoes, they could only weave their own straw shoes to go up the mountains to cut wood or work in the fields. Her grandparents were born during difficult times and couldn't afford shoes, so their skill in weaving straw shoes was exquisite.
By the time she was born, basically no one wore straw shoes anymore. However, her grandparents often reminisced about the past, so in their spare time, they would weave a few pairs of straw shoes to remember.
Being close to them, she had learned a bit, but she couldn't make many complex styles like her grandmother; she only knew how to make the simplest kind.
Just as she was preparing to twist the rope, the forest, which hadn't seen rain for a long time, suddenly poured. The beastmen all stayed in their homes, not daring to go out.
This was also the first challenge for the newly built houses.
Fortunately, these houses were built very sturdily, and the roofs were thatched with very thick dry grass, so there were no leaks.
Since she couldn't go out because of the rain, Lin Die could stay home and focus on making straw shoes.
Yang was very bored being alone in the room, so he ran to Lin Die's room to watch her make shoes.
Lin Die had placed a table in the room. She was currently sitting on a chair, weaving the thatch grass into strands of rope.
Beastmen were used to sitting on the ground, so Yang felt very uncomfortable sitting on a chair and kept fidgeting. But seeing Lin Die silently weaving the rope, he suppressed his discomfort and didn't dare to move around anymore.
After a long time, Yang finally couldn't help himself and said to Lin Die, "Lin Die, let me help you weave!"
Lin Die glanced at him and asked, "Do you know how?"
Yang puffed out his chest and said, "What's so hard about twisting rope? I can do it just by watching."
Lin Die handed him a pile of thatch grass. Since this kind of grass was everywhere, it didn't matter even if he messed it up.
Yang picked up some dry grass and tried twisting it a few times. Although it was his first time, he looked quite adept.
Lin Die looked up at his movements, and her gaze slowly moved up his body.
Although his hair was very long, it was clearly groomed carefully every day, not messy like the other beastmen.
His thick beard covered more than half of his face, making it impossible for others to see his features clearly.
Lin Die's gaze continued downward. He was shirtless.
His upper body was exposed, his skin a healthy bronze from the sun. His physique was powerful but not exaggerated, with every firm muscle containing explosive strength.
It had to be said, this was truly a very attractive body.
An animal skin was wrapped around his waist. Lin Die suddenly remembered the scene from their first meeting and quickly looked away.
A beastman's senses were incredibly sharp. From the moment Lin Die started looking, he had noticed. Her gaze swept over his body, as hot as fire, making his entire body feel like it was burning.
Yang stopped his movements, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly.
"Lin Die, what are you looking at?"
