Chapter 1
Spreading Renown
"Quickly, save the Lord!" Da Li soldiers, realizing the changing situation, hoisted their weapons and roared, charging forward.
"Charge!" Xishan soldiers, seeing the enemy attempting to kill Ding Bu Ling, simultaneously roared in indignation and poured into the fray.
The two armies clashed and slaughtered each other, becoming even more intense, like swarms of ants colliding.
Soldiers died at an alarming rate, yet the brutality did not diminish; as one fell, another took his place.
The soldiers were deeply moved by Ding Bu Ling's valiant actions. His unyielding, upright posture, even after being struck by arrows, was etched into their minds.
"We've reached the Lord!" The Da Li soldier who had shot Ding Bu Ling shouted. He had already approached Ning Jin and Ding Bu Ling.
"Hurry up!" Xishan soldiers, seeing this, roared with bulging faces. Allowing enemy soldiers to reach him first would put Ding Bu Ling in grave danger.
"Get lost!" The Xishan Heavenly Human General's eyes turned bloodshot. He swung his long saber, beheading the Da Li Heavenly Human General's warhorse.
With his warhorse dead, the Da Li Heavenly Human General lost his balance, falling to the ground. He propped himself up with one hand and swung his long saber back at the Xishan Heavenly Human General.
"Die!" The Xishan Heavenly Human General swung his long saber downwards with even greater force, breaking the Da Li Heavenly Human General's saber in two, followed by a gush of fresh blood.
"Too late!" The Xishan Heavenly Human General, delayed by the enemy Heavenly Human General, grimly looked towards Ding Bu Ling and spoke.
"Ha ha!" The Da Li Heavenly Human General pressed a hand to his wound and laughed heartily. This young man from Xishan could rival the Six Blades, and might even become a new Six Blades. Now that Ding Bu Ling was about to die, his own death was worthwhile.
"Da Li scoundrel, how dare you!" Xishan soldiers roared, their eyes red, watching the Da Li soldier drawing a dagger towards Ding Bu Ling.
"It's over!" Some people closed their eyes, unable to bear watching, while the Da Li soldiers' faces were excited.
"Die!" The Da Li soldier thrust his dagger at Ding Bu Ling, his face beaming with joy. If he killed this genius from the enemy side, he would surely be heavily rewarded by the General.
Ding Bu Ling gritted his teeth, pain coursing through his body, making him want to drift into sleep. His hands clenched, wanting to use all his remaining strength for one final strike.
"Why?" Ding Bu Ling wanted to fight desperately one last time, when suddenly the Da Li soldier's face froze. He looked behind him in disbelief and uttered.
"The honor of the Six Blades is not something a mere servant like you can touch!" Ning Jin said, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. He had just exhausted all his True Qi, intending to lure Ding Bu Ling closer and then unleash a sudden, fatal blow. He hadn't expected to be interrupted by his own side's soldier.
Ding Bu Ling looked at Ning Jin in surprise. From Ning Jin's arrogant eyes, he saw what he wanted to say: "This time, it's a draw between you and me."
Ding Bu Ling smiled faintly, his consciousness fading into a black dot, and he fell backward. A Xishan soldier quickly caught him.
On the other side, Da Li soldiers had also captured Ning Jin. The two armies carefully retreated, as if by prior agreement.
"Young man, well done, you have created a miracle!" The Xishan Heavenly Human General helped Ding Bu Ling onto his horse. He personally escorted Ding Bu Ling back to the main camp for treatment.
The Xishan Heavenly Human General suddenly felt a sense of unreality; he had witnessed with his own eyes a new Six Blades being born before him.
"Charge!" The Xishan Heavenly Human General roared, and his horse galloped like the wind, clearing a path back to the camp. At this moment, Ding Bu Ling's life was the most concerning.
Because Ning Jin was defeated, the morale of the Xishan army's right flank surged. News of Ning Jin's defeat spread across the entire battlefield like clouds carried by the wind.
"Have you heard? Ning Jin, the Six Blades of Da Li, was defeated by a young man from our side!" Xishan soldiers shouted excitedly.
"Who is that young man?" another Xishan soldier asked curiously.
"I heard others say his name is Ding Bu Ling, and he's a new recruit just like us!" a Xishan soldier said proudly.
"Ding Bu Ling!" Everywhere on the battlefield, the name Ding Bu Ling was heard, making everyone wonder, who was Ding Bu Ling?
"Excellent!" Su Dong Liu and Liu He, wreaking havoc among the Da Li enemy, roared upon hearing the news.
"Ah!" Li Xin, like a yellow-turbaned strongman, swung two massive hammers, sweeping away a large section of the Da Li army.
"Brother Ding!" Cheng Xiu said emotionally, his hand slightly clenched. The good news about Ding Bu Ling boosted the morale of the entire Xishan army, including his own.
Although on the left flank, Liang saw that the atmosphere on the right flank was hotter, with soldiers surging like waves. Knowing it was good news, he smiled.
"Well done, Bu Ling!" Zheng Dong Lin, from his elevated position, also heard the news and spoke.
"I didn't expect our army to have such a formidable person!" Li Ge said in surprise.
"He is my sworn brother!" Zheng Dong Lin said.
"So that's it!" Li Ge nodded. People gather in groups; Zheng Dong Lin was already extremely powerful, so his sworn brother would naturally be no less.
"This time, our mission is to kill the enemy general, you know that, right?" Li Ge said.
"Tian Ren Jiang Ting Feng has told me!" Zheng Dong Lin nodded.
"Good, this time we will kill an enemy Tian Ren Jiang!" Li Ge said.
"If it's just a Tian Ren Jiang, it's simple!" Zheng Dong Lin said lightly.
"If it were just an ordinary Tian Ren Jiang, I could kill him myself; there would be no need for a large-scale assassination!" Li Ge said calmly.
"Oh?" Zheng Dong Lin was surprised.
"It's another extremely powerful individual, not listed among any of the Ten Bows, Six Blades, Five Spears, or Seven Swords. I heard he is a Dao Seeker!" Li Ge said with a frown.
"What is a Dao Seeker?" Zheng Dong Lin asked curiously.
"In a way, they are a collective of people who always live apart from the world. To them, seeking the Dao and cultivating to become an Immortal is the true path; anything like building national territory is secondary!" Li Ge said.
"Are there really Immortals in this world?" Zheng Dong Lin asked, shaken.
"I don't know, that's just a legend. Whether Immortals truly exist, no one knows!" Li Ge shook his head.
*Boom boom boom!* On the other side, five war chariots appeared from Da Li. In front were two warhorses, and on both sides of the wheels were sharp saw blades. Each time they moved at high speed, the saw blades easily tore through anything they touched.
"Get out of the way, it's Da Li's war chariots!" Xishan soldiers waved their hands and shouted loudly. Soldiers on both sides retreated, trying to avoid the chariots' saw teeth.
The war chariots, pulled by two warhorses, moved at extreme speed, making it impossible for ordinary soldiers to evade them.
The saw teeth thus tore through a series of fallen soldiers. On their bodies, where the saw teeth passed, large chunks were missing, and their internal organs spilled out.
"Damn it, you're moving too slowly!" Xishan soldiers panicked, their formation in disarray, cursing.
"Get out, get out!" Da Li soldiers, seeing them flee in terror like stray dogs, couldn't help but laugh loudly.
"Let me!" A keen-eyed Xishan cavalryman noticed a fatal weakness of the Da Li war chariots: their two large wheels. If something could jam the wheels, the war chariot would be easily destroyed.
But achieving this was no simple matter; one careless move and the chariot's saw teeth would catch a person, leading to a wrongful death, not to mention the Da Li soldiers controlling it from above.
The Xishan cavalryman rode his warhorse at high speed, skillfully maneuvering the reins to avoid the saw teeth, running parallel to the war chariot. He gripped his long spear, intending to thrust it into the gap within the wheel.
The long spear was just about to enter the wheel, and a look of joy appeared on the Xishan cavalryman's face. However, just a moment later, the Da Li soldier on the war chariot sneered, and a volley of long spears pierced the cavalryman.
The cavalryman was riddled with countless spears, fresh blood gushing from the holes. He fell from his horse and died, his corpse torn to pieces by the passing war chariot.
"That's the consequence for you scoundrels who dare to oppose us!" Da Li soldiers laughed loudly.
"You scoundrels!" Xishan soldiers' eyes blazed with anger as they looked at the dead cavalryman.
"I'm coming!" Li Ge rode his warhorse to block the war chariot's path. The soldier controlling the war chariot saw this and cruelly smirked: "Another idiot dead, and still unafraid?"
"Charge!" The Da Li soldier yanked hard on the reins. The two horses pulling the war chariot exerted even more force, and the saw teeth spun into a blur of black.
In this situation, if Li Ge wasn't crushed by the war chariot, he would be torn apart by the saw teeth, or else killed by the Da Li soldiers' spears.
"You will pay for my Xishan army!" Li Ge declared, his long saber drawing a line of swirling dust from the ground upwards, forming a vertical wall of saber-Qi made of sand that split the charging war chariot in half, including the soldiers controlling it from above.
The war chariot split in two, automatically veering away from Li Ge, who stood in the middle, his cloak billowing in the wind.
"Charge!" Li Ge swung his long saber, pointing at the four remaining war chariots, his domineering aura shaking the entire field.
Without waiting for the army to react, the Green Ox charged directly at a war chariot, its two massive ox horns clashing head-on with the chariot's saw teeth.
The saw teeth scraped against the Green Ox's horns, sending sparks flying everywhere, but only leaving a white mark. The saw teeth on the blade had been worn down by the ox horns.
"Moo!" The Green Ox raised its head and struck. Its two ox horns lifted the war chariot, the two warhorses, and the entire chariot with its occupants into the air.
Crimson long spears seized the opportunity, piercing all targets in mid-air.
