When the Sub-Personality Falls for the Rival

It Feels Very Right

Chapter 46

It Feels Very Right

After the class meeting ended, class monitor Zhao Zi Chen went to the office to get the seating chart.
The seating arrangements this time had undergone a massive change. Zhao Zi Chen had just pasted the chart on the board and hadn't even stepped down when a crowd of people gathered to see where they were sitting.
Gui Yue wasn't like them. He sat in the very back corner, only briefly looking up at the podium, his gaze mostly indifferent.
But even if he didn't care, his juniors would eagerly inform him.
"Brother Gui, it's over, you're not sitting in the back row anymore, you've moved up to the third row. The teacher will see you as soon as they look up!"
Gui Yue hummed. The third row was the middle row, neither too close nor too far from the blackboard, the concentration area for aspiring top students.
He could occupy this position, he suspected, by basking in Jiang You's light.
By the time everyone knew where they were sitting, ten minutes had passed since class ended.
"If you already know your seats, then let's hurry up. The teacher said we have to finish changing before the first evening self-study session. Everyone, quickly return to class after eating." Before Zhao Zi Chen finished speaking, the classmates stood up one after another, putting their arms around each other's shoulders and leaving the classroom.
Jiang Qi woke up from his subconscious, knowing he was about to sit at the same desk as Super Adorable, his heart blooming with joy. He stood up, turned to look at Gui Yue, his amber eyes sparkling.
Gui Yue walked towards him. Before he even reached him, he heard "Jiang You's" voice, both cool and full of joy: "Desk-mate!"
For some reason, Gui Yue's ear itched a little. He rubbed his ear, "Mm," he hummed.
Outside the classroom door, Jiang He and Lan Yun Jie waited impatiently. Lan Yun Jie glanced inside, calling out anxiously: "Stop talking, we're starving to death."
Jiang He chuckled, the corners of his mouth curving slightly.
"You're always so noisy," Gui Yue walked out, kicking Lan Yun Jie.
The four went to the canteen for dinner. At the dining table, Lan Yun Jie and Jiang He learned that the two of them were sharing a desk.
"I want to share a desk with Little He too," Lan Yun Jie bit hard into a bun, tears welling up in admiration: "But my teacher hasn't mentioned changing seats. My current desk-mate is both stupid and smelly."
Jiang He's face flushed red, and he said softly: "I, I want to share a desk with you too."
Gui Yue rested his left hand on his face, crossed his legs, took a bite of a filled bun, then turned to look at his official desk-mate.
Jiang Qi was afraid of ruining his image, so he ate very delicately. Noticing Gui Yue's gaze, he looked back puzzledly: "What's wrong?"
"Just wanted to ask how it feels to move from the front row to the middle row," Gui Yue swallowed a mouthful of water, raised an eyebrow, "Could it be that a super student sitting next to a bad student has nothing to say?"
Actually, I'm also a bad student.
Jiang Qi swallowed his food, looking at Gui Yue without a hint of guilt, calmly saying: "It feels like nothing, just like you moving up from the back row."
Gui Yue looked at Jiang Qi's calm expression, suddenly feeling uncomfortable.
He leaned close to Jiang Qi's ear, asking softly: "How do you know I don't feel anything?"
Warm breath fanned his ear. Jiang Qi's eyes moved slightly, his long, slender eyelashes trembling. He looked up, meeting Gui Yue's dark eyes: "Do you feel something?"
What kind of dangerous question was that?
Gui Yue thought the Omega was doing it on purpose.
But facing those clear eyes, Gui Yue felt he had overthought it.
"Mm." Gui Yue thought for a moment, then nodded, "It feels very right."
The Alpha lowered his voice, the husky undertone of his breaking voice like a feather brushing his heart, making it flutter. Jiang Qi curved the corner of his mouth.
"Ah." So adorable.
Ah! What "ah"? Gui Yue was speechless, no longer in the mood to talk. He packed up the leftover food, changed his crossed legs, and then coincidentally met Lan Yun Jie's gaze.
Lan Yun Jie completely failed to sense the atmosphere that was starting to turn strange, smiling foolishly: "Brother Gui, you and the top student are really close."
Gui Yue: "Yeah." Are you blind?
After dinner, Gui Yue walked very naturally beside Jiang Qi.
The two said nothing the whole way, silently listening to Lan Yun Jie chatter incessantly by himself.
The classroom was extremely messy, desks scattered, a pile of things thrown haphazardly on the floor.
When changing seats, students argued noisily, the incessant screeching of desks dragging, and the sound of books falling mixed together, extremely jarring.
Occasionally, it was interspersed with the class monitor Zhao Zi Chen's shouts: "Lift the desks, don't drag them! There are other classes downstairs!"
Few paid attention to his words; it was truly bitter.
Jiang Qi heard the noisy sounds, unconsciously took a step back, frowning. Damn it, are they all crazy, why is it so loud?
Gui Yue was standing behind Jiang Qi. His step back immediately bumped into Gui Yue's chest.
Gui Yue also saw the scene in the classroom. He cursed inwardly, then lowered his head and said to the Omega: "Wait a bit before going in."
Jiang Qi nodded in agreement.
The two stood in the hallway. Gui Yue pulled a piece of chewing gum from his pocket. Just as he was about to put it in his mouth, a slender, pale arm reached out.
Gui Yue glared at him: "It's all gone."
Jiang Qi retracted his hand, his eyes slightly downcast, "Mm," he hummed, full of loss. Then, he "tried" to force a smile, saying: "Alright."
Damn it, why didn't Jiang You usually know how to pretend to be so pitiful?! He must be craving my gum! I won't fall for it!
Three seconds later.
Jiang Qi contentedly chewed his gum.
Gui Yue's face fell. He watched the people in the classroom changing seats through the glass door.
After everyone had almost finished moving their things, Gui Yue spat his gum into the trash can and walked in.
Gui Yue's original seat was in the back row. He lifted his foot to walk there, but suddenly changed direction, moving the desk of the person in the front row to the middle, then leisurely returned to the back row as if nothing had happened.
Jiang Qi had just entered when he saw this scene. He blinked, walked over, moved his chair, and began rearranging his books.
At the same time, Gui Yue's action of helping Jiang You move his desk was seen by everyone. Not a few people gaped in surprise.
Many began to whisper, their gossip-loving blood stirring.
Although there were Alphas in the class who helped Omegas, one had to know that Brother Gui was not among them. Whether an Omega was beautiful or not, it was all the same to him, let alone someone like Jiang You, who he didn't seem to get along with.
Zhao Zi Chen sat on his chair, elbowing his desk-mate's waist: "Hey, although I noticed a few days ago that Brother Gui and the top student's relationship was improving, I didn't expect Brother Gui to have such high emotional intelligence, even knowing to help the top student move his desk."
Sun Hou, who could become junior number two at any moment, was also surprised, but he still remembered to maintain his boss's image in front of outsiders.
"Brother Gui treats whoever he wants to treat well, why do you worry so much?" Sun Hou looked disdainfully at Zhao Zi Chen.
Zhao Zi Chen: "..." Never mind.
Jiang Qi usually didn't study much, so he didn't know how to arrange his books, just putting them away randomly.
He lowered his eyes, squatted on the ground, and as he pulled out a math book from his desk, an empty desk suddenly appeared next to him.
Thump, the ground also shook.
Jiang Qi looked up. The Alpha seemed to feel nothing wrong with his actions, continuing to carry a chair over.
His movements were smooth and swift.
"Done." Gui Yue sat down, letting out a sigh.
Jiang Qi looked at Gui Yue's empty desk, feeling a little envious. He also wanted to be so reckless.
Gui Yue glanced at his desk-mate. A top student was indeed a top student; his desk was full of math problems and notebooks, neatly organized, a complete contrast to his own.
After changing seats for a while, the bell for evening self-study rang.
The substitute teacher leisurely walked in, sat on the podium, and played on his phone.
Gui Yue glanced at the teacher, then took out a piece of paper. If the homeroom teacher wouldn't let him play tic-tac-toe, he'd play something else.
Jiang Qi stared blankly at the test paper, as if reading alien script, his eyes blurring.
He turned to look at Gui Yue. The Alpha was busily writing. Jiang Qi's fingertips poked the test paper, subtly shifting, intending to see what Super Adorable was doing.
Gui Yue was having fun when he suddenly felt something strange. He tilted his head, just in time to meet the youth's curious gaze.
"Checkers, want to play?" Gui Yue paused for a moment, then asked.
Jiang Qi looked at the book on his desk, then glanced at Super Adorable, and then seriously nodded:
"Play."
