After Hearing the CEO's Inner Thoughts

Cai Leng Han Becomes Stranger

Chapter 30

Cai Leng Han Becomes Stranger

By habit, the more emotions Cai Leng Han felt, the colder his face became. Seeing him silent, Zhao Wan Rou bit her lip, stood on her tiptoes, and wrapped the scarf she was holding around his neck. Then, she said with a smile:

"Remember to take care of your health. Come back once you're done."

"Mm."

Cai Leng Han nodded dazedly. He could no longer think straight. Zhao Wan Rou looked at her husband's blank expression with amusement, though her heart felt a twinge of pain. She had only given him a scarf, yet he was this moved. Just how much had this "clumsy ice block" suppressed his emotions while living with her through three years of cold indifference in their past life? Not wanting to embarrass him further, she urged softly:

"Then hurry and get in the car. Don't miss your flight."

Stiff as a robot low on oil, Cai Leng Han awkwardly sat back in the car. Fang Xie He, sitting in the driver's seat, was just as stiff. It seemed he had just seen something he shouldn't have. He wondered if this CEO-cum-best-friend, who was always ready to discard employees and friends for his wife, would do something to "silence" him.

While Fang Xie He drove out of the villa grounds in fear, carrying an ice block whose heart was actually churning with hidden lava, Zhao Wan Rou stood there staring after them without blinking. Only when the car was out of sight did she rub her freezing hands and quickly head back inside to prepare breakfast.

When she entered the house, Auntie Hai had already set the table. As she sat down, she saw Auntie Hai holding a few small slips of paper, gazing at them intently. Curious, Zhao Wan Rou asked:

"What are you holding, Auntie?"

Auntie Hai replied happily, "Tickets to the amusement park, Madam."

"The amusement park? Do you like going there?"

Zhao Wan Rou was surprised. Auntie Hai was over fifty; if she still liked amusement parks at her age, it would be... quite strange. Guessing her thoughts, Auntie Hai smiled and explained:

"No, these are for my two grandsons. It's been so long since I took them out. I kept promising and breaking those promises; the kids were about to get mad at their grandma. I didn't expect the Master to remember my complaints. He bought these for me!"

Zhao Wan Rou fell silent, feeling a lump in her throat. She remembered the rumors about Cai Leng Han's background—that he had lived in the countryside since he was a child and his mother had passed away early. Perhaps he had never been to an amusement park himself. Was that why he wanted to help Auntie Hai's grandsons experience the joy he never had? Suddenly, Zhao Wan Rou felt that she should take Cai Leng Han to an amusement park one day. If she couldn't intervene in his deprived childhood, she would make it up to him now.

Perhaps her thoughts were too intense, because the man she was thinking of, Cai Leng Han, let out a thunderous sneeze just as he stepped out of the car at the airport. Fang Xie He was so startled he almost dropped his briefcase, looking over in concern. Cai Leng Han sniffed, quickly regained his cold facade, proudly adjusted his scarf, and walked forward with his head held high. His heart was filled with joy; this was clearly Zhao Wan Rou having a "spiritual connection" with him, which was why she gave him this scarf. If not for the scarf, he surely would have done more than just sneeze once.

Li Tian Zhi had also just arrived. Seeing Cai Leng Han's strange behavior, he was so scared he wanted to turn and run. But Fang Xie He was quick to grab his accomplice. This trip was too dangerous; the CEO was suffering from a very concerning level of "psychological trauma" and was becoming stranger by the moment. Fang Xie He wasn't stupid enough to go with the CEO alone. If the volcano erupted, it would be better for two people to face it than one. And so, amidst the morning announcements in the chilly air, three tall, handsome, yet eccentric men walked through the airport, drawing admiring and curious gazes from everyone.

Meanwhile, back at the villa, Zhao Wan Rou let Auntie Hai leave early to take her grandsons to the amusement park. She went out to the yard to play with Ha Ha for a while until her phone rang. Checking the screen, Zhao Wan Rou sniffed and pressed the answer button with emotion. The caller was her best friend, Wang Tian Bi.
