Chapter 27
The Parasitic Jian Guang Teng
Jian Guang Teng.
A type of anomalous creature that lived for many years in darkness, its greatest desire was to grow tall enough to touch the sun. They liked to parasitize human bodies, as human flesh and blood could nourish their growth.
In the infinite world of Shen Jiang, various types of monsters were categorized: some could cause direct damage, some could only harm people through rules or unique abilities, and there were also those... that would assimilate humans into their own kind, which players called parasitic monsters.
Jian Guang Teng was one of them.
Cheng Li reached out and touched a vine. Immediately, the vine sprouted a series of sharp thorns, attempting to pierce his palm and suck his flesh and blood to nourish itself.
But it failed; the thorns couldn't penetrate his seemingly delicate skin to reach the blood within.
Cheng Li's skin was like bronze skin and iron bones.
He narrowed his eyes, sensing the existence of a human girl's consciousness from the vines. Her consciousness was hazy, having fallen into a coma. If this continued, she would be completely devoured by the Jian Guang Teng.
Cheng Li grabbed the vine that was trying to retreat, clenching it tightly with both hands, his voice deepening: "Let go."
The vine shook violently, struggling wildly in his hands. It grew countless more sharp thorns, all stabbing into Cheng Li's body, but to no avail.
It seemed to have panicked, gathering all its vines and frantically attacking the walls, as if trying to find a way to escape.
During the attack, Cheng Li heard complaints from all directions: "What are you doing, what are you doing!"
"Too bored, so you're knocking on walls?!"
"Liu Li Li! What are you doing in there?!"
Cheng Li heard the girl who had her lock changed earlier knocking on the apartment door, gently asking, "Li Li, what's wrong? Do you need help?"
Cheng Li sighed, then let go, allowing the vines to scramble out of the window crack, branch after branch vying to escape.
"Li Li! Do you need me to call the police?!"
"I've already called, you know?"
The corner of Cheng Li's mouth twitched. He heard that if you were taken to the police station, you had to call a family member to bail you out. And he absolutely did not want to see Pei Su at the police station.
A locksmith using his skills to open a young girl's bedroom door sounded far too weird.
