The Master Lockpicker in Unlimited Flow

Midnight Terror

Chapter 41

Midnight Terror

If it was Lolita, tying herself up and throwing herself into a bathtub full of water was indeed something she would do. For no other reason than her fondness for using a harmless appearance to evoke human pity.

And people like that... were always Lolita's favorite delicacy.

She was unlike those low-tier anomalies like the Snail Monster or the Light-Fearing Vine that frequently appeared in the world of Shen Jiang. Lolita was a mid-tier anomaly, and for mid-tier anomalies and above, only one of each kind existed.

Therefore... this Lolita was the very one who had once clashed with Cheng Li, and had even almost been eaten by him. In the end, he hadn't eaten her because Cheng Li couldn't bring himself to do it; after all, Lolita still took the form of a very cute little girl.

Cheng Li looked at Li You An with amusement. "Speak."

Tell him how he had managed to walk out of that door alive after facing Lolita.

Li You An turned his head, his face filled with disbelief. "You... you didn't lose your memory?!"

Cheng Li shook his head and set Lolita down on the ground. She glared at him in annoyance. The floral dress on her body quickly dried, returning to its clean and light state.

Li You An was indeed still in school, but he wasn't as young as Cheng Li had thought. He was a graduate student, not an undergraduate. Due to his germaphobia, he had moved out to live alone.

And everything began... one night a week ago.

In the middle of the night, Li You An got up to drink water. Just as he stepped out of his room, he saw his curtains fluttering wildly, yet the windows were tightly shut. With only the slight draft coming through the gaps, it was fundamentally impossible for the curtains to be blown so high.

At first, he didn't think much of it, only intending to walk over and tie the curtains neatly.

Who would have thought that the moment he drew near, he immediately regretted it.

A little girl in a floral dress was playfully messing with the curtains. Due to her small stature, Li You An hadn't noticed her presence from afar. It wasn't until he got close that he nearly lost his wits.

Li You An turned to look at the front door, confirming it was securely locked. He then swallowed hard, his mind instantly descending into chaos. Was it a ghost? Or something else?

In the middle of the night, with the door locked, a little girl had appeared out of nowhere... no matter how he looked at it, it seemed like the opening of a horror movie.

"And then?" Cheng Li asked while cracking melon seeds.
