Chapter 15
If Miss Ruan is the CEO's Mistress, Can He Come Eat for Free Every Day?
He turned his head to glance at the spot where Xiang Chen was once again surrounded by a crowd, then looked at the bag of braised meat in his hand.
Special Assistant Te: "..."
He had no choice!
Carrying the bag of braised meat he had just bought, Special Assistant Te approached Xiang Chen’s stall once more.
Xiang Chen had never met him, but the System had. The moment he appeared, the System reminded her that the man before her was the male lead's special assistant.
Special Assistant Te spoke up: "Miss Ruan."
While handing meat to a customer, Xiang Chen pretended not to know him and looked up. "I'm listening. Is there a problem with the braised meat?"
"Ah, the meat is fine, it's just..." Special Assistant Te stopped mid-sentence when he noticed the people around them prickling their ears to eavesdrop. He paused for a moment. "I am the personal assistant to the CEO of the Ouyang Group. I have some business to discuss with you. Can we find a place to talk?"
Xiang Chen gave him a look. Although her expression was very gentle, for some reason, the special assistant felt as if he was being scrutinized. He didn't know why, but facing Xiang Chen’s gaze, he instinctively explained: "I have no intention of offending you, please don't overthink it. I just..."
Xiang Chen nodded. "I know, you're just following orders. I understand. But I'm busy right now. If you're not in a hurry, please wait to the side for a bit. Once I'm done selling, we'll find a place to talk."
Special Assistant Te agreed and stood obediently to the side. Waiting was always boring, especially when the rich aroma of braised meat kept swirling around his nose. After waiting a while longer, he couldn't resist taking out a piece of meat to eat.
It wasn't that he was greedy; it was because he had come early to snag a spot and hadn't eaten dinner yet. Standing there smelling the food made his stomach start to protest.
Twenty minutes later, Special Assistant Te tossed the plastic bag—now containing only bones—into the sorted trash bin. He looked back at Xiang Chen’s stall and fell into a long silence.
It seemed... he shouldn't have bought so little.
He suddenly realized that this delicacy possessed a terrifyingly addictive charm.
