Depositing Money and Rushing Back Home

After taking a cab some distance away from Tom's shop, Cao Shudong slipped into an empty, unmonitored alley and retrieved two suitcases stuffed with foreign currency from her spatial dimension.

Dragging the suitcases out of the alley, she hailed a cab to the bank she had researched beforehand—the most reputable, secure, and highly-rated bank in the city.

Entering the bank, Cao Shudong approached a teller and expressed her desire to make a large deposit. Upon hearing the amount Cao Shudong wished to deposit, the receptionist immediately called the bank manager.

The bank manager was an elderly Caucasian woman with the commanding aura of a strong career woman. Her hair was neatly styled without a single strand out of place, with silver streaks running through her light brown hair, yet she showed a gentle demeanor when facing Cao Shudong.

Hearing Cao Shudong's purpose, the manager personally invited her into the VIP room.

Declining the manager's assistance, Cao Shudong strained to drag the two heavy suitcases herself as she followed her into the VIP room.

Once inside, the manager invited Cao Shudong to sit, ordered someone to prepare tea, and introduced herself as Daisy.

After sitting down, Daisy asked directly, “May I ask your name, miss?”

Cao Shudong replied, “My name is Cao Shudong.”

With a warm smile, Daisy asked, “Miss Cao, you mentioned you have a large cash deposit. May I ask the exact amount?”

Cao Shudong replied calmly, “It's the money inside these two suitcases.”

Daisy then asked, “Have you opened an account with us before, miss?”

Cao Shudong answered, “No, I haven't.”

Daisy smiled and said, “In that case, I will have to trouble you for a moment. We need to set up an account for you first.”

Just then, the door to the VIP room opened, and a staff member brought in the tea. The server carefully set down the cups and left, closing the door behind them.

Daisy asked Cao Shudong for her identification documents and immediately arranged for someone to process her card.

While waiting, Cao Shudong asked, “Miss Daisy, I have a question. Is your bank card accepted globally?”

Daisy looked at Cao Shudong and said, “Of course it is, Miss Cao!”

Just as she finished speaking, there was a knock on the door. A bank employee entered, handed Cao Shudong's new card to Daisy, and said, “This lady's card is ready.”

Daisy turned and handed the new card to Cao Shudong, saying, “Why don't we activate the card now? I'll have an employee assist you with the setup. Meanwhile, we can have our staff begin counting the cash. How does that sound, Miss Cao?”

Cao Shudong replied, “That sounds perfect. I'm in a bit of a hurry today and hope to get this resolved. I'll leave the rest in your hands, Miss Daisy.”

Manager Daisy said, “Then I will have the staff count the cash in your presence.”

With that, Daisy opened the door and stepped out, while the employee who had brought the card began guiding Cao Shudong through the activation process.

A moment later, Daisy returned to the VIP room with a group of employees and cash-counting machines. Fortunately, the VIP room was quite spacious, so the influx of people did not make it feel cramped at all.

Upon entering, Daisy asked gently, “Miss Cao, may we open your suitcases now?”

Cao Shudong replied, “Yes, Manager Daisy. You may begin counting the money now.”

As soon as Cao Shudong gave the word, Daisy instructed her staff to get to work. They opened the suitcases and set up the machines. The sight of two large suitcases stuffed with cash was revealed to the staff, but they seemed accustomed to such scenes and showed no surprise.

Stack after stack of cash slowly disappeared from the suitcases. As the final stack was processed, the bank staff calculated the total. Meanwhile, after setting up her card, Cao Shudong sat on the sofa, watching the staff count her money.

The final tally showed that the cash in the two suitcases amounted to exactly one hundred million foreign dollars. After a series of procedures, the funds were finally deposited into Cao Shudong's account.

Pressed for time, Cao Shudong left the bank immediately after the transfer went through.

Stepping outside, she looked toward the distant sky. The sky was like a white canvas dyed with the crimson of maple leaves, appearing both warm and exceptionally romantic. The blend of red and orange seemed to be celebrating her, spreading across the sky for all to see.

Standing at the bank's entrance, Cao Shudong dragged her two empty suitcases and hailed a cab to the airport. When the taxi reached the airport, the sky had begun to darken.

Cao Shudong got out of the cab, carrying the empty suitcases. Looking back at the foreign sky, she thought about how fulfilling and fast-paced these past few days had been. Who would have thought she would come abroad just to "scavenge"? Reflecting on her incredible luck this time, she realized she really loved this kind of scavenging and hoped she could do it a few more times.

After staring at the foreign sky in a daze for a moment, she snapped out of it, whispered a quiet "Goodbye" in her heart, and walked straight into the airport.

She quickly completed her check-in, checked her two empty suitcases, and sat down to wait for the boarding announcement.

While waiting, she kept checking her account balance on her phone, pondering how she should spend this money. Once she returned home tomorrow, she would first pick up Kongbai from the pet clinic. She hadn't seen him in nearly a week; she wondered if her beloved cat missed her. Now that she was rich, she was going to spoil Kongbai like a little princess!

Just then, the boarding announcement played, indicating it was time to board.

As soon as she boarded and settled into her seat, Cao Shudong felt her stomach rumble with hunger. She called a flight attendant to ask for some food, but before she could take more than a few bites, the pre-takeoff announcement sounded. With no other choice, she quickly stuffed a few mouthfuls into her mouth and asked the flight attendant to clear the tray.

Once the plane took off, she tidied up a bit, pulled up her blanket, and fell asleep.

She had booked a flight for after 8:00 PM. At the plane's current speed, she estimated she would arrive home by tomorrow afternoon. This was because she had a layover; a direct flight would have gotten her home by noon.

Cao Shudong was exhausted, having barely slept the night before. She didn't wake up until the flight attendant announced the layover, prompting her to hurriedly transfer to her connecting flight.

After boarding her next flight, she had a quick brunch, played on her phone for a bit, and fell asleep again. When the landing announcement finally echoed through the cabin, Cao Shudong knew she was back in her home country.
