Hogwarts: Starting with Luna's Family, Striving for Godhood

You've Turned Into a Kitten Too!

Chapter 11

You've Turned Into a Kitten Too!

Seeing her own prank, Luna looked left and right, seemingly delighted, and even softly mimicked a cat's meow: "Meow!"

"Little kitten!" Wizette said with a laugh.

Luna looked toward Wizette beside her and suddenly reached out her finger, gently tapping Wizette's face, then flicking it to leave three marks. "You've turned into a kitten too!" She held up the blank card to show Wizette, letting out a laugh like wind chimes.

Wizette felt as if he were melting. He hurriedly stood up, momentarily forgetting what he should do. Um... he wanted to find a towel to wipe Luna's face.

He went into the bathroom, scooped several handfuls of water onto his face, like a melting candle meeting a cold wind, finally solidifying back into a mass. Touching his face and seeing the black ash marks on his fingers, Wizette couldn't help but laugh as well.

He shook his head gently, muttering, "Am I not a wizard? Why was I thinking of a towel... I clearly know so many cleaning spells..." Since he was already there, he sighed, dampened a towel, and returned to Luna's side, carefully helping her wipe away the marks.

Luna asked softly, "Is it clean now?"

"Clean, not a trace left." Wizette set the towel down, intending to hold up the blank card for Luna to see.

Without waiting for him to raise the blank card, Luna also took the towel and helped him wipe away his marks. "Also very clean, not a single trace left."

"Let me use it..." Xenophilius’s voice was very nasal as he directly snatched the towel and rubbed it straight onto his face. He had cried the hardest, so the stains on his face were the most numerous; the towel quickly turned into a grey mess.

Cleaning up the towel and the breadcrumbs on the table, Wizette completely regained his composure, pondering what exactly was the issue with the bread. It would make Luna remember her mother... and it would make Xenophilius choke up... It was likely because of everything experienced over the last two days, causing him to lose control and pour in too much pure emotion, thus triggering a resonance.

After summarizing for a while, for some reason, he happened to remember the loaves of bread left in the Headmaster's office a few days ago. He wondered how Headmaster Dumbledore would react after eating the bread. Compared to the bread made today, the bread from a few days ago had a higher degree of completion; he feared the pure emotion hidden within would not be any less.

Wizette shook his head repeatedly, trying not to think about what a weeping Dumbledore would look like... Having summarized to this point, the solution was actually quite simple: he just needed to restrain his emotions and only think about making the bread delicious.

Thinking of this, he withdrew his emotions while casting the spell, once again making a portion of magical bread. Perhaps due to practice, this owl-shaped bread looked slightly better than before. At least the outer crust was brown without signs of being dry or hard, and it wouldn't be stuck with black ash.

After eating the bread, Luna and Xenophilius both gave positive reviews: although the appearance still had some flaws, the inside was soft, and the taste and aroma were excellent.

...

After the busy day, Wizette returned to his dormitory and examined the "Wizard's Field Guide" in his mind. After a school year, the "Wizard's Field Guide," which was originally empty, had gained quite a few pages. Looking at the somewhat cluttered pages, he communicated with the "Wizard's Field Guide," intending to categorize the pages within.

He skimmed through "Guardian Meditation," "Intermediate Magic Eye," "Ancient Magic: Improvement," "Ancient Magic: Soul-Purifying Curse," and "Ancient Magic: Self-Shaping (Devil's Snare Form)." Based on his past-life experience and the functions of these ancient magics, he categorized them as auxiliary magic. As soon as the thought was conveyed, the pages immediately stirred, and the pages he had just viewed all gained a blue marker that read: Auxiliary Magic.

Wizette nodded with satisfaction and continued categorizing. For instance, "Ancient Magic: Levitation Charm" and "Ancient Magic: Improved Deluminator Charm (Primary)" could make people float or swallow light, so they were control magic. Attack magic had two types: "Ancient Magic: Improved Severing Charm (Primary)" and "Ancient Magic: Throwing Mastery," both of which could directly produce attack effects. Power magic had one type: "Ancient Magic: Improved Summoning Charm (Intermediate Creature Capture)." Control magic had a yellow marker, attack magic had a white marker, and power magic had a purple marker.

With the categorization complete, the originally chaotic pages became much more orderly. He was quite interested as he flipped to the last page, discovering he had missed an ancient magic. This magic had just undergone a growth process in the mirror world, and even its name was slightly different: "Ancient Magic: Shield / Instant Shield."

Wizette carefully read this page. "Ancient Magic: Shield": Guided through meditation and hand gestures, condensing ancient magic power to diffuse into a magical shield... This was the first magic he had cast after obtaining the "Wizard's Field Guide," and the content on it hadn't changed. However, there was an additional description below.

"Ancient Magic: Instant Shield": Does not require guidance through hand gestures; condenses ancient power to instantly erect a magical shield; cannot be maintained for long... He grasped the key information: no hand gestures required, instant erection, short duration.

Wizette compared the context, trying to deduce more mysteries. Not requiring hand gestures still implied the need for "Guardian Meditation"... Without a doubt, this was a magic with more practical combat significance. At least from the literal meaning, this magic required the caster to have a certain combat awareness and to accurately grasp the timing of the strike to exert its intended effect.

He first categorized it as defensive magic, assigning it a yellow marker, then tried casting it to see the specific effect. Wizette stood in the middle of the room and began to cast "Guardian Meditation," feeling a sudden flash of inspiration that made him instinctively control his silent core. The silent core was like a second heart, suddenly pumping out ancient magic power. The ancient magic power was like a bubble, suddenly diffusing outward, forming a small magical shield around his body.

The magical shield was completely transparent, emitting an extremely faint silver-blue light that didn't affect his vision at all. Just as Wizette intended to observe it carefully, the magical shield vanished like a bubble illusion, as if it had never existed.

"Cannot be maintained for long... So it really is like that?" He sighed, and once again tried casting "Ancient Magic: Instant Shield"...

After several rounds of testing, he gained a deeper understanding of this magic. "Ancient Magic: Instant Shield" did not last long; the magical shield existed for approximately two seconds, and if he wanted to cast it again, there was also a cooldown of about two seconds. Taking the casting of "Guardian Meditation" as the starting point, the meditation controlled the silent core, making it pump out ancient magic power to form the magical shield...
