Chapter 26
I Approve of You Now!
Wizette opened the letter and saw the acceptance letter with his name on it.
Having just experienced the wonder of magic, his heart was filled with irrepressible excitement.
During this period, he had been constantly hoping that the acceptance letter would arrive.
Aside from the acceptance letter, there was also another sturdy piece of parchment listing the books and items required for school.
Attending Hogwarts did not require tuition fees; one only needed to purchase the necessary items themselves.
Wizette had lived in an orphanage in his previous life, and such a unique life experience made him particularly sensitive in some aspects—when money was mentioned, he would become unusually cautious.
However, he had a more important question. "Professor McGonagall, Luna's acceptance letter... wasn't it delivered by you?"
McGonagall explained, "She is not yet of age. Next year she will be able to join Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a first-year."
Wizette turned to look at Luna. "Then why did you tell me to call you sister?"
"I've always wanted a younger brother to protect." Luna's face beamed with a radiant smile, her voice carrying a hint of playfulness. "I've fulfilled my duty as an older sister, haven't I?"
McGonagall pointed her wand at the iron cage, which floated into the air and wobbled over to her side.
"I must investigate thoroughly why this snake appeared here."
"Investigate?" Wizette thought of something. "Professor McGonagall, do you mean... this was an intentional attack?"
McGonagall sighed. "Wizette, you are an Obscurial. Other wizards will look at you differently. You should understand that, right?"
"If you put it that way, I understand..." Wizette thought of many things. "They feel I am an anomaly and instinctively want to reject me."
"In their eyes, I must be a ticking time bomb. If I were a student's parent... I would also have to consider the safety of my child."
"Your understanding is entirely correct!" McGonagall adjusted her glasses, her clear lenses reflecting astonishment and appreciation. "Like Headmaster Dumbledore, I have great faith in you."
"You are absolutely a child of outstanding talent, and I look forward to your performance at Hogwarts. You don't need to worry about the rest; we will help you handle it."
"Right! In a while, a letter will be sent here, and someone will take you to Diagon Alley to purchase the items on the list."
Leaving this instruction, she vanished into a vortex along with the iron cage.
...
At night, just as Wizette was planning to mend his clothes, the door was suddenly knocked.
"Come in!"
Entering the room was Xenophilius, Luna's father, a disheveled middle-aged man.
His long, pale blonde hair hung down over his shoulders, looking somewhat greasy;
There were deep dark circles around his eyes, making him look rather weary.
He pulled over a chair and sat opposite Wizette. "This seems to be the first time we've... conversed face-to-face? Are you mending clothes?"
"I accidentally tore them." Wizette put down the needle and thread in his hand.
Just as Xenophilius had said, this was indeed their first face-to-face conversation.
Xenophilius was the editor-in-chief of *The Quibbler* and usually worked on the second floor;
He was also responsible for three meals a day and telling bedtime stories to Luna, barely managing to balance work and life.
"Luna told me everything." Xenophilius's expression was serious. "You protected her... I must say thank you."
"She protected me," Wizette waved his hand. "She pushed me away first, and it was Professor McGonagall who ultimately saved us."
Compared to the usually weary middle-aged man, the serious Xenophilius before him felt a bit unfamiliar.
"No, no, no!" Xenophilius shook his head repeatedly. "Usually, because of my work, I don't have much time to spend with her. Most of the time she plays by herself."
"Aside from reading *The Quibbler*, she would water the garden. Since you arrived, she has smiled much more... Even the Plimpies she caught were much larger!"
Wizette smiled. "I've learned a lot from Luna."
"In short! Although I still don't understand why the Ministry of Magic stuffed you into my house..." Xenophilius stood up.
He placed his hand on Wizette's shoulder, as if a king were knighting a subject. "But! I approve of you now!"
Seeing Xenophilius like this, Wizette didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
However, he also understood one thing—
Tonight, he and Luna's family had achieved true mutual acceptance.
-------------------------------------
Late at night, the fireplace in the Hogwarts Headmaster's office crackled, the flames turning emerald green, and McGonagall stepped out.
Dumbledore put down the documents in his hand, stood up, and asked, "Minerva, back so late again? Did something happen?"
"Indeed, there was some trouble." McGonagall adjusted her glasses. "When I went to deliver the acceptance letter, I encountered a Runespoor."
Dumbledore frowned. "A Runespoor? Is Wizette alright?"
"He is perfectly fine!" McGonagall nodded. "I've asked Kingsley to help investigate, and I believe we will have results soon."
"That Runespoor was very old. By the time I brought it to Kingsley, it had already lost all signs of life. The person who could raise a Runespoor would not have a simple identity."
"I suspect that whoever released the Runespoor hoped this attack would trigger Wizette's Obscurus, thereby drawing more criticism."
"As expected!" Dumbledore sighed. "But I imagine Wizette had some unexpected performance?"
"Yes, Wizette is a gifted child!" McGonagall offered a slight smile. "Not only was he not harmed by the Runespoor, but he also protected Luna Lovegood."
"Luna Lovegood? This matter seems even more convoluted than I imagined!" Dumbledore walked to a cabinet and took out an ancient Pensieve.
The rim of the Pensieve was carved with countless mystical runes, and it was filled with a silver substance that was like smoke and illusion, carrying a dazzling, mesmerizing quality.
"A Pensieve?" McGonagall drew her wand, pressing its tip against her temple and pulling out a shimmering silver strand.
The strand dissolved into the Pensieve, and Dumbledore leaned down, burying his face deep within the basin.
Dumbledore placed the Pensieve back, sitting in his chair with his fingers interlaced, his expression carrying a hint of emotion.
"Wandless magic... No! It's even more ancient, the method of casting wizards used before wands were popularized. Truly outstanding!"
Professor McGonagall nodded in agreement. "In that magical shield, I felt an incredibly pure determination to protect! Did he figure this out without any instruction?"
"Perhaps the guidance of others was also important." Dumbledore smiled. "Cornelius stumbled into luck, actually finding the most suitable wizarding family for Wizette."
Professor McGonagall's tone was slightly helpless. "If it's just to cultivate imagination, *The Quibbler* can indeed play a role."
"Indeed!" Dumbledore's smile grew clearer. "Minerva, which House do you think Wizette will be sorted into?"
