Chasing the Kidnappers

Chasing the Kidnappers

"No explosives?" Xin Yi was initially a bit dazed, looking at the person who had just appeared and looked somewhat familiar. Then he reacted to what the other said and was stunned.

"That's right." Di Yuan Yan Er raised his hand to greet Yi Da Hang, pointing at the screen displaying the classroom window where Jiang Gu Ling was standing in a daze. He pointed at the screen: "Look here, here, and here too; there are traces of dismantling, and the re-installation was not careful at all."

As he spoke, Di Yuan Yan Er rubbed his chin: "In this situation, if there were explosives inside, it would have exploded long ago. Furthermore..." He signaled Yi Da Hang and Xin Yi to look at the corner of the table in the back, "That's probably the explosives that were taken out."

Yi Da Hang and Xin Yi strained their eyes but saw nothing unusual. If he hadn't reminded them, they truly wouldn't have realized those were explosives taken from the bombs. Xin Yi remained silent, remembering the kidnapper leader's words through the eavesdropping device. He smiled awkwardly at Di Yuan Yan Er: "Officer, your eyesight is truly good."

Di Yuan Yan Er didn't mind, replying self-indulgently: "This is probably just professional quality."

Xin Yi's mouth twitched, and he turned back to the screen. This officer was not like the police he had met before. "Why didn't Brother An Shi tell us?" Xin Yi looked reproachfully at Jiang Gu Ling's figure. The person in the most dangerous place made them so worried without even sending a message of safety.

Yi Da Hang looked at the notebook recording information from Jiang Gu Ling and smiled bitterly: "He said he was very safe." But they all thought it was words of comfort; they didn't expect Jiang Gu Ling had long ago discovered the bombs had no explosives.

Di Yuan Yan Er laughed: "If Song Tian hadn't gone out, he would definitely have discovered the problem too." Xin Yi was full of question marks; what did this have to do with Officer Song Tian? Yi Da Hang understood; when it came to bombs, Song Tian Zhen Ping was even more sensitive than Di Yuan Yan Er.

"So his current purpose is to lead the kidnappers out?" Yi Da Hang quickly guessed Jiang Gu Ling's intention. There were hostages here, so the police couldn't easily act. If they could lure them away, the police could follow and arrest them at a suitable time. This required an inside agent, and Jiang Gu Ling, with his extraordinary skills, was the best choice.

"But An Shi is just a child." Inspector Mu Mu heard this and frustratedly patted his forehead. Letting a child do such dangerous work was a failure of the police.

Di Yuan Yan Er shrugged: "This is not for us to decide. He has already made the decision himself."

On the other side, Jiang Gu Ling's voice rang out: "Looking at the police's behavior, my deduction is probably not wrong." He looked out the window, saw fewer police, and turned back to look at the leader with a triumphant expression: "What a pity, you won't get what you want, and you're trapped here."

The leader angrily raised his gun in threat: "Don't forget you're in my hands! If I'm caught, I'll detonate the bomb on you, and no one will survive!" The children cried in fear. Jiang Gu Ling acted uneasy, making the leader think that although he was smart, he was still just a child. He had the idea of kidnapping this child to raise him.

However, he didn't notice Chi Jing Xiu standing behind him, looking at him with a look of sympathy. Chi Jing Xiu realized this was the familiar prelude to being "dug into a hole" by Jiang Gu Ling.

The kidnappers prepared to retreat. They demanded the police prepare a car. The police had received Jiang Gu Ling's signal, so they complied. After checking that the car had no tracking devices, the kidnappers began attaching bombs to the hostages. Jiang Gu Ling saw the 24-hour countdown timer, becoming even more certain the leader didn't actually want to kill.

The leader attached the final bomb to Chi Jing Xiu. Chi Jing Xiu looked at Jiang Gu Ling; their eyes met, but their intentions were unclear. Chi Jing Xiu intended to move to subdue the leader, but Jiang Gu Ling signaled not to risk it for the safety of the children.

The kidnappers took Jiang Gu Ling as a hostage. As they left, a remote warehouse in the school exploded to create a diversion. Di Yuan Yan Er immediately called Song Tian Zhen Ping. Song Tian said he had finished handling the bomb at the apartment complex and was coordinating the investigation.

In the classroom, Di Yuan Yan Er went to defuse the bomb for Chi Jing Xiu. He thought to himself that if Jiang Gu Ling hadn't told him to prioritize "this Mr. Zhu Xing," he would have left him for last.

The kidnappers took Jiang Gu Ling into the car, continuously changing through 8 cars to lose the police. The leader was triumphant because he saw no police cars following. But he didn't know Jiang Gu Ling was using an eavesdropping device to report the route to Yi Da Hang and Xin Yi. Jiang Gu Ling looked at the leader, secretly feeling sorry because if he hadn't kidnapped him, the man might have had a chance to escape. He decided he would personally send this poor fellow to prison.
