Chapter 34
Amuro Is Not Bourbon
The pink-haired man immediately became wary when Si Di Lu suddenly brought up the FBI. Why now?
Okiya Subaru couldn't help but speculate that perhaps Bourbon was fundamentally a subordinate of the organization, and their cooperation was entirely a ploy to lure the FBI into a trap and eliminate them. However, upon careful consideration, Bourbon had no need to do so. Whether it was helping him escape the organization's pursuit years ago, seeking him out for cooperation recently, or just now, Bourbon was secretly drugging Si Di Lu.
Currently, he had a listening device on his head, allowing him to hear the conversation in the opposite room. Si Di Lu knew the FBI intended to surround and eliminate them because Bourbon had provided the intelligence.
Okiya Subaru leaned back in his chair. Even when Jodie and James entered, he paid them no mind, merely signaling them to be silent. The listening device continued to transmit the voices of the two on the other side.
He heard Amuro Tooru's somewhat indifferent voice: "Who knows? One hour, two hours? I don't think that's important. What's important is that you currently have a cold; would you mind drinking some more warm water? Since you won't allow me to go out and buy medicine."
Clearly, this cold was brought on by him. Okiya Subaru thought to himself, perhaps Amuro Tooru wanted to use illness to tie down Si Di Lu?
"You really don't care?" Si Di Lu said, followed by the sound of drinking water. His tone was profound, but even without seeing his expression, Okiya Subaru could sense the hidden good mood of the other party.
"I naturally don't care." The sound of a chair being dragged echoed, accompanied by footsteps and a soft hiss. Amuro Tooru's voice carried a hint of displeasure: "If you're talking about the FBI."
"Didn't you still hold a grudge against the FBI before? I remember you once told Gin you wanted to steal my Apache and bomb the FBI building? And said you'd take all responsibility?" Si Di Lu's voice held a hint of a smile. Okiya Subaru lightly tapped his fingers on his knee. So Amuro Tooru once had such intentions? The FBI truly offended him too much.
The space fell silent for a few seconds. Amuro Tooru scoffed: "If you let me out to accept Gin's mission, I would certainly perform actively. Unfortunately, you're currently locking me in this reinforced concrete building…"
Within Bourbon's intimate tone towards the organization's Boss, there was still a hint of resentment. If Okiya Subaru didn't know that Bourbon was originally disloyal to the organization, he would surely be troubled by such dedication.
"If I let you out, I'm worried you'll cause a great disaster." Another sound of drinking water. It seemed Amuro Tooru had put in a lot of effort to make Si Di Lu finish that medicine.
"What great disaster could I cause?" Amuro Tooru was dissatisfied: "That Gin is far more arrogant than I am. I'm more worried he'll drive a helicopter to bomb Tokyo Tower one day."
"No, even if you have opinions about Gin, you shouldn't degrade his character like that."
"Huh?" Amuro Tooru's voice rose in surprise. Okiya Subaru, though he couldn't see, could imagine his grey-blue eyes glaring at Si Di Lu: "Gin… does he really have something called character?"
This was a profound question. Si Di Lu rested his chin on his hand, at a loss for words, and could only pick up the glass of water, take a sip, and then cough from the heat. It was the hot water Furuya Rei had just poured.
Furuya Rei handed Si Di Lu a tissue to wipe the water from his body, then casually asked: "Have you identified all the FBI personnel present at the scene?"
The organization knowing about the FBI's actions didn't surprise Furuya Rei, because even the Metropolitan Police Department had moles, so the FBI could hardly avoid it. It was just that Si Di Lu only told him when Gin's group had already surrounded the outside, and Andre Camel and Corn were in sniper positions. This made Furuya Rei a little conflicted, wondering if the other party still suspected him.
When he heard that the FBI was preparing to act at the banquet, Furuya Rei decided to exchange medicine from the system. He needed to tie down Si Di Lu to find an opportunity to act without exposing his identity.
Okiya Subaru's appearance at the door was unexpected for Furuya Rei, but it helped him transmit information more easily.
Furuya Rei sat opposite Si Di Lu, observing the other party's increasingly grim expression. After finishing the last piece of medicine, Si Di Lu began to show signs of fever.
"Cough, cough, cough." Si Di Lu coughed violently.
Furuya Rei stood up and patted his back, his face full of worry: "Perhaps I should go buy some medicine for you."
"No need, just stay here, Bourbon. Protecting my safety is the most important thing right now."
"That is certainly important." Furuya Rei walked to the window, quickly glancing outside to determine Andre Camel and Corn's positions. He knew Gin would also participate as a sniper.
Furuya Rei helped Si Di Lu lie down on the bed, reaching out to feel his forehead: "You're running a bit of a fever."
"I'll go buy medicine." Furuya Rei said firmly.
Si Di Lu still didn't want him to go, worried about his safety and his own. Finally, Furuya Rei conceded: "At least let me call Matsumoto's family to bring up some fever medicine."
Si Di Lu hesitated, then nodded. Furuya Rei went out to make the call, not forgetting to turn off the room light.
Okiya Subaru immediately followed. The two brushed past each other like strangers in the hallway. Furuya Rei whispered as he passed: "We'll make our move today. There's a mole from the organization within the FBI. I'll give the signal; dealing with the mole is your business."
Akai Shuichi responded softly. He certainly wouldn't miss this opportunity.
After Furuya Rei returned to the room, Jodie and James also left. Matsumoto Kiyonaga brought the medicine, and Si Di Lu fell asleep after taking it.
In the dimly lit room, Furuya Rei sat silently. Suddenly, a shattering sound echoed, and the only light went out. Si Di Lu woke with a start, a dark figure lunging towards him. A sniper shot rang out, the bullet embedding itself in the bed. Furuya Rei pulled Si Di Lu to dodge into a hidden corner. The moonlight illuminated the golden-haired young man's cold, grey-blue eyes.
