Obtain My Consent First

Chapter 43

Obtain My Consent First

The final sliver of the gap closed silently.
Bing Ci, as usual, used warm water to dampen a towel, intending to wipe the bloodstains from Han Wu's hands.
Before she could touch him, Han Wu jerked his hand back as if struck by an electric shock.
Bing Ci looked at him in confusion; hadn't he stopped resisting?
Han Wu frowned deeply, saying with slight dissatisfaction, "Any boy who goes through something like this needs time to heal."
"I still resist being touched by others right now."
Bing Ci nodded, believing him, and handed the warm wet towel to him, saying, "I won't touch you. Wipe them yourself."
Han Wu’s expression changed instantly. His hands hung in the air, refusing to take the towel.
That familiar expression, that familiar feeling—here it comes!
Bing Ci asked resignedly, "Then what should I do?"
Han Wu’s anger turned to joy. He feigned indifference and whispered, "If you want to do anything to me, you must ask for my opinion first. Once I agree, I won't resist."
"Then, can I wipe your hands now?"
"You may." Han Wu nodded with satisfaction.
After wiping his hands came the filing and painting of his nails.
Bing Ci hesitated for a moment and asked solemnly, "Can I touch your hands?"
Han Wu paused for about five seconds before agreeing.
Bing Ci held the nail file, meticulously smoothing the scratches left by the surgical knife he had used to scrape off the nail polish.
Because he had used too much force, he had poked the tender flesh beneath his thumbnails, causing his palms to ache incessantly.
Out of ten fingers, nine were bleeding. Bing Ci didn't know how many times she had frowned, nor how many times she had been deceived by Han Wu.
Finally, it was the pinky finger; the reddish-purple tender flesh was completely exposed before Bing Ci.
Bing Ci held her breath.
Han Wu withdrew his hand, comforting her as if nothing were wrong, "It doesn't hurt anyway."
The nail could no longer grow back. Bing Ci carefully cradled his pinky, not telling him what the doctor had said.
"Isn't it terrifying?" Lacking a nail, Han Wu used his other hand to poke the tender flesh, causing him to hiss in pain.
Bing Ci was a step too slow to stop him. Seeing him turn pale from the pain, she didn't know what to say.
Even a slight touch hurt this much; without the protection of a nail, how could the tender flesh be shielded? Bing Ci was at a loss.
In that moment of helplessness, Han Run brought over an artificial nail.
Without hesitation, Bing Ci helped Han Wu put on the artificial nail. Instantly, his hand looked just as it had before, showing no difference at all.
However, they now owed a debt of gratitude to the masked man.
"I must personally remove his mask," Han Run said with a determined tone.
Bing Ci sat on the chair and pondered for a long time. Even now, she could not confirm whether the masked man was a friend or a foe.
They did things that were beyond imagination.
Theoretically, now that the final Power Ring was in their hands, they should have taken a series of actions to trigger a major event. Yet, they had currently vanished without a trace, as if they had evaporated from the world.
"There is still one person who knows their whereabouts," Han Wu said coldly, his eyes filled with a dark mist that made him impossible to read.
Seeing him like this, Bing Ci knew he was thinking about that matter.
"The true identity of the masked man, Wen Wang Yue, is the young master Guan Yue of the Guan clan in Nandu. He was the one who stabbed me in the back when we were in Fucheng. I thought he had died long ago, but I still underestimated that traitorous fourth uncle of mine," Han Wu said, gritting his teeth.
"Guan Yue? What is his relationship with Fourth Uncle?" Han Run asked curiously.
"An improper relationship," Han Wu replied irritably.
Bing Ci: "..." Was it really okay to say such things in front of a child?
Han Run nodded half-comprehendingly and muttered softly, "Fucheng..."
When she discovered the assassins lurking around Guan Yue, her first thought was also to go to Fucheng.
"You stay put for me," Han Wu said, throwing a bucket of cold water on her, ruthlessly extinguishing her budding excitement.
Han Run remained calm and composed, saying a single sentence that made Han Wu stop preventing her.
At that time, she said, "Before the masked people left, they took something. They said they wanted to hang it up so people could fantasize about you."
