The Canary's Escape Plan

Sunflower Hotel

Chapter 32

Sunflower Hotel

Under the scorching sun, the Sunflower Hotel stood tall in the middle of a bustling street. In front of the hotel, several handsome men in formal attire had been waiting for a long time. Their collars and cuffs were embroidered with exquisite patterns, and complex totems were stitched onto their chests, making them look incredibly elegant.

Hua Jian wore a pure white suit, his entire being radiating noble grace. His deep, blood-colored eyes were as enchanting as brilliant, sparkling agates. He turned his gaze toward the back of the carriage. It was a carriage covered in black cloth, with a massive monster standing in front of it; the wheels were embedded deep into the monster's body to provide the power to pull the carriage forward.

The carriage curtain flickered. Inside was his wife, his bride. He took a deep breath and reached out to welcome his bride, but after a long while, there was no response. The gentleness on his face finally cracked. He yanked the curtain aside and forcefully grabbed the person inside, dragging them out.

He held a beautiful hand. On the back of the hand was a red snake tattoo clinging to the fair skin; the snake's head flicked a bright red tongue, its cold fangs looking as if they wanted to tear the bride apart.

Angel was violently pulled from the carriage by him. The two entered the hotel together as the men at the door bowed to welcome them. Outside the hotel, various luxury carriages were parked, all pulled by demons from hell. Demon lords stood at the front, bowing respectfully to the two.

They were surrounded by a crowd of demons as they entered the hotel lobby. Upon stepping inside, a new world revealed itself. Roses and camellias bloomed in competition, their red and white hues blending brilliantly in a breathtaking display. The architecture was extremely lavish, with massive glass blocks embedded in the walls, reflecting the magnificent and ethereal lights from the ceiling. The floor was covered with thick Persian carpets, feeling incredibly soft underfoot.

This was the scene of their wedding.

Along the way, Gui Bi always stood not far from Angel, head bowed, lost in thought. Angel withdrew his gaze from Gui Bi. Hua Jian's eyes darkened, and he tightened his grip on Angel's hand. As they walked to the center of the hall, Hua Jian stopped and turned around.

Angel's face was somewhat haggard. His long hair cascaded over his shoulders, further accentuating his delicate, fair skin. His figure had thinned a bit but remained as beautiful as ever; especially in the pure white formal wear, he looked like a fading moon.

Hua Jian stared at Angel, dazed. Angel's eyes were beautiful, their shifting light carrying a hint of sorrow. In Hua Jian's eyes, that gaze became something that could steal one's soul.

Angel looked up, meeting Hua Jian's gentle eyes, and a strange emotion suddenly welled up in his heart. They stared at each other for a long time before Hua Jian wrapped an arm around Angel's waist, pulling him close. He whispered into Angel's ear, "Angel, I love you. I love you so very, very much."

Angel naturally knew that Hua Jian loved him. Through the past cycles, Hua Jian's love for him had reached a level that made him feel afraid.

Gui Bi stood not far behind Hua Jian, expressionless, but the butterflies around him radiated bone-deep killing intent. Angel's heart was filled with complexity. If this cycle continued, after he and Hua Jian married, Tian Zhou would take advantage of Hua Jian's absence to come and kill him. After dying, he would enter the next cycle again. Repeating this over and over had driven him mad.

Therefore, something had to be different from the previous times. For example, letting Gui Bi kill Hua Jian.
