Chapter 27
Breaking Into the Operating Room
Early the next morning, the group met in the dining hall, and the plan began to be executed from this moment. Shen Yu wanted to act alone, and since Xie Tu's actions during the day would be restricted, he did not plan to have Xie Tu follow him. He reached out and patted Xie Tu's head gently: "Alright, now you are a normal patient. Remember to play your role well and wait obediently for me to return."
A light flashed in Xie Tu's eyes, and he nodded obediently. Of course, this was only seen by Shen Yu; in the eyes of outsiders, Xie Tu still wore his usual cold and distant expression.
However, the two good-looking individuals standing together still made for a beautiful sight.
Before leaving, Shen Yu suddenly said to Zhuang Jie: "Right, when you go to the office, you can bring two helpers. I'm worried Chen Yuansheng won't enter the operating room."
What Shen Yu was worried about, Zhuang Jie had also thought of, so she brought along the foreign man.
.
The surgery started at exactly 12 o'clock, and the second session was one hour later. Fortunately, the head nurse had informed them of the specific times.
The electrical meter box was outside the hospital, requiring a very long detour to find, so Shen Yu could not be blamed for not being able to act with them now.
Shen Yu looked at the clock pointing to 12:40, guessing they had already prepared to act inside.
.
The person undergoing surgery first was the patient from room 201. Meanwhile, they had found a fitting patient gown for Yu Chengyi, and a wig of unknown origin was also placed on his head. His handsome, sharp-featured face was actually not easy to disguise.
But they had observed that the two nurses pushing the hospital bed would not enter the operating room, so Zhuang Jie and Wang Jiaxin had changed into nurse uniforms. Originally, Chen Song was supposed to coordinate with Zhuang Jie, but Chen Song couldn't walk in high heels, so the phase of bringing Yu Chengyi to the operating room was taken over by Wang Jiaxin.
Chen Song kept thanking them from the side.
Wang Jiaxin gently said there was no need to thank her.
Yu Chengyi toyed with the patient gown on his body, a scalpel that Zhuang Jie had stolen from somewhere tied to his wrist.
"You must remember what Shen Yu told you," Zhuang Jie could see that Shen Yu still cared a lot about Yu Chengyi's safety, so she couldn't help but remind him.
Yu Chengyi smiled foolishly, like a silly Golden Retriever, "Don't worry! I will definitely complete the mission successfully!"
The door to the operating room had not yet opened, but the two nurses responsible for pushing the patient to the operating room had already headed toward room 207. In the room, Yu Chengyi was already lying on the bed, while the others hid behind the door.
The door was opened, and Yu Chengyi had his back to them, so the two people opposite saw nothing unusual. "Mr. Li, how are you feeling now? We are preparing to arrange your surgery."
"Did you follow the fasting rules?" another nurse asked.
The other wondered: "Strange, where is his caregiver?"
"I'm here," Wang Jiaxin's apologetic voice sounded from behind. The two turned around simultaneously, only to be met with two blows to the head from Wang Jiaxin and Zhuang Jie.
Both of them fainted at the same time.
"You guys go first. I'll tie them up and catch up immediately," Chen Song said, coming out of the restroom with a rope.
"Alright," Zhuang Jie nodded. She and Wang Jiaxin put on masks and pushed Yu Chengyi out. Yu Chengyi tossed and turned on the bed a few times, then asked: "What position should I lie in?"
Zhuang Jie pulled the blanket up to cover his head, hiding his entire face under it: "If you don't say anything, you won't be exposed."
Yu Chengyi immediately shut his mouth.
The time was already 12:51. Their actions were quite swift, and they soon arrived at the door of the operating room to wait.
Yu Chengyi's palms were sweating. Through the blanket, he could only hear the sounds outside. Not long after, he heard the door of the operating room open, followed by a question from inside: "Has he fasted?"
"Yes, everything meets the standards. The patient fasted for too long and was a bit uncomfortable, so we just coaxed him to sleep. Don't wake him up yet," Zhuang Jie's voice was extremely natural, without any flaws. Yu Chengyi secretly admired Zhuang Jie's acting skills.
"Alright, thank you for your hard work." The hospital bed seemed to have been taken over by someone else, and Yu Chengyi felt himself being pushed into a cool place, clearly the operating room.
At this moment, there were still six minutes until exactly one o'clock. These six minutes could bring many variables; for example, the doctor on the other side had already begun using a syringe to draw anesthesia.
Yu Chengyi carefully parted a slit in the blanket, looking around. The doctors here all looked very unfamiliar. Shen Yu said he had hidden a recording device behind the glassware, which seemed to be right where they were standing.
They discussed something in low voices. In less than two minutes, the lead doctor, holding a syringe, approached Yu Chengyi.
Yu Chengyi's heart pounded. He sat up abruptly, throwing off the blanket. Under everyone's astonished gazes, Yu Chengyi shouted: "You black-hearted doctors! What do you want to do?"
The lead doctor's face remained calm, while the assistant beside him quickly tried to soothe Yu Chengyi: "Mr. Li, calm down. We are preparing to perform surgery on you. Aren't you sick..."
Yu Chengyi got out of bed, kicking away the medical equipment beside him: "Nonsense! You are a bunch of black-hearted doctors who specialize in human experimentation!"
Perhaps having had his secret exposed, the lead doctor frowned and raised his right hand to snap his fingers. Two burly men appeared out of nowhere behind him.
"The patient is uncooperative. Grab him, and I will inject the anesthetic," the lead doctor ordered abruptly.
Yu Chengyi's heart went cold, thinking this was bad. He still clearly remembered Shen Yu's warning: absolutely do not let this anesthetic be injected. He grabbed a glass bottle from the ground, taking a defensive stance.
The wall clock showed only half a minute left until one o'clock.
Hearing the order, the two men advanced toward Yu Chengyi, reaching out to grab his arms.
Like a monkey, Yu Chengyi leaped onto the bed, stepped on the hospital bed to kick one person away, and was about to kick the second when the operating room suddenly went dark.
"Power outage?" the lead doctor asked.
The assistant quickly said: "I'll go start the backup power source immediately. You know, your hospital's equipment is relatively outdated."
Chen Yuansheng was somewhat speechless. Hearing the loud noise in the operating room, he felt his temples throbbing with pain. There was a small operating light in the room. Although its illumination range was not large, it was more than enough to see Yu Chengyi's position clearly.
Yu Chengyi also used this dim light to run toward the position Shen Yu had told him to hide the recording device.
Chen Yuansheng was quick-eyed and quick-handed, grabbing Yu Chengyi's arm. Before he could react, the anesthetic needle in his hand stabbed down hard. His anesthetic was supposed to take effect instantly.
Unexpectedly, only Yu Chengyi's earth-shattering scream echoed through the operating room, "Ahhhhhh—"
Well, being stabbed straight into the flesh, how could Yu Chengyi not scream?
Yu Chengyi didn't care about this bit of pain. Thinking the anesthetic was slow-acting, he cursed his bad luck, found the recording device without much effort, and stuffed it into his pocket.
Turning around, he punched Chen Yuansheng. Yu Chengyi was originally a fitness trainer, and this punch used almost all his strength, landing squarely on Chen Yuansheng's nose. In an instant, Chen Yuansheng's nose bled profusely, and the pain made his eyes go dark.
"Grab, grab him for me!" Chen Yuansheng roared, covering his nose with one hand and pointing at Yu Chengyi with the other.
In a sense, the entire operating room seemed to be filled with flesh-and-blood NPCs. Yu Chengyi clenched his fists, making them crack.
He raised his hand and punched the nearest person. He might underestimate his ability to fight monsters, but his ability to fight humans was innate.
This punch seemed to carry the sound of cracking bones. He only felt refreshed; the frustration he had suppressed for so long was finally vented. He did not hold back with any punch, saying as he fought: "I'll kill you guys! How dare you be black-hearted doctors!"
"Forcing me to be a caregiver!"
"Get lost!" He didn't know who he kicked, maybe Chen Yuansheng, as the groaning sounded very similar.
Yu Chengyi did not delay. He kicked away the person at his feet, grabbed the collar of the female assistant hiding under the hospital bed, dragged her to the door, and roared angrily: "Let me out!"
The trembling assistant fumbled for a switch, and the operating room door slowly opened. Chen Song, who was pacing anxiously outside, finally saw hope.
He was frightened by the blood on Yu Chengyi's body. Seeing his bloody hands and hearing the non-stop screaming behind him, he also understood what had happened.
"Let's go," Yu Chengyi shook his somewhat dizzy head, his arm stabbed by Chen Yuansheng aching slightly.
Chen Song did not dare to delay either, helping Yu Chengyi leave. At this moment, power was restored to the hospital, and the operating room door closed once again.
Inside the operating room, Chen Yuansheng sat leaning against the side of the hospital bed, panting as he picked up the bottle of anesthetic beside him to take two sniffs. "Who changed my anesthetic?!"
"0183! 0565! Go kill them, kill them all! Kill them clean!" Unable to control his rage, Chen Yuansheng smashed the glass bottle beside him. A clattering sound echoed in the operating room. His so-called "kill them clean" included both patients and caregivers.
0183 and 0565 were creatures created by the headquarters, and also the monsters in this hospital. One of them was the monster that had appeared in Shen Yu's room that night. The two creatures turned into puddles of mud, crawling out of the operating room.
Chen Yuansheng clutched his chest and panted, grimacing in pain.
.
By the time Yu Chengyi ran to the assembly point with the recording device, the others had already gathered there.
Zhuang Jie had already shared the information from the computer with them, and the current situation was half-believed and half-doubted.
Yu Chengyi appeared before everyone covered in blood, giving them a fright. He hurriedly threw the recording device in his pocket to Zhuang Jie.
"This is the proof of their human experimentation on you!" Without time to ask Yu Chengyi questions, Zhuang Jie quickly connected the recording device to the computer via Bluetooth.
Immediately after, a video over ten hours long appeared on the computer screen. The first scene was Shen Yu's face. He was wearing a security uniform, his cap neatly adjusted.
His eyebrows and eyelashes were thick and long, his thin lips slightly pursed, his eyes clear yet distant, and his skin cold and pale. With such a beautiful face, he was seriously setting up the position of the recording device, resulting in the beginning of the video being a close-up of Shen Yu's face.
Only now did everyone realize that Shen Yu's charm did not just come from that face. Over this period of time, his personal charisma had long surpassed his physical beauty.
Zhuang Jie suddenly recalled that during their chat that afternoon, Yu Chengyi had told her that because Shen Yu's face was too beautiful, it had almost harmed him instead...
In this place, being too beautiful seemed to be a truly dangerous thing.
