The Yin-Yang Bride

Battle of Spells

Chapter 27

Battle of Spells

Gou Ming, from above, laughed leisurely, his hands forming seals even more tightly:
"Junior Brother, today is your day of death."
He formed a long seal, and the formation grew stronger. Suddenly, a streak of white light flew from afar, striking Gou Ming's hand. Perhaps because this light was too powerful, it immediately made him stop forming seals, and Grandfather and the Old Blind Man thus escaped death.
Indeed, the next to appear were Fourth Uncle and Zhang Sheng. Grandfather turned and said:
"Why have you come here?"
"Foster Father, no matter what danger you face, I can sense it."
Gou Ming sneered, clapping his hands:
"Excellent, the more the merrier. Today I shall give you all an eye-opening experience."
Fourth Uncle had always been very arrogant, so Gou Ming's words naturally fell on deaf ears:
"Great Demon Lord. I am not even afraid of you."
The Old Blind Man shouted:
"Don't underestimate him; he might have cultivated the Void Evil Art."
Fourth Uncle glanced at the Old Blind Man, then his eyes lit up as if he had found a treasure:
"You are Ye Mao Song of Kunlun Mountain."
"This is not the time for talk."
Gou Ming felt both ignored and insulted, so he waved his hand, and rocks and earth flew out from the mountain, scattering everywhere. He gathered powerful Qi in his palms, making everyone in the formation feel extremely suffocated.
Meanwhile, on our side, we were still battling Wu Ming and the Female Ghost.
Naturally, we were at a disadvantage against the two of them. Wu Ming tightly clutched Zhou Yao's neck, but he remained very calm:
"Kill me, so I can atone for what you suffered during your time in the Zhou Family."
Yin Xiang shouted loudly, flying to rescue Zhou Yao, but unexpectedly, she was injured by Wang You:
"Wu Ming, release him."
Wu Ming glanced at Yin Xiang, her eyes filled with an immediate desire to kill.
Yin Xiang fainted on the ground. Su Er and I ran to help her... but it was too late; the white cloth in Wang You's hand had pierced through her.
Su Er trembled with fear, while I could only collapse to the ground.
The Female Ghost laughed loudly, looking towards Wu Ming:
"I've dealt with this hussy for you. Doesn't my White Dao Silkworm, stained with her blood, look like a flower amidst white snow? Haha... haha..."
Wu Ming seemed unable to believe her eyes, and immediately struck the Female Ghost with a palm, sending her flying:
"Who gave you permission to decide on your own?"
Su Er and I ran to Yin Xiang's side. She was so badly injured that her face had lost all color. In her final moments, she grasped my hand:
"Chu... Ling... you are... you are... Brother..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she breathed her last in my arms. This was the last time we would meet. Her body also vanished without a trace.
Wu Ming truly could not believe that because of her, Yin Xiang had died tragically at Wang You's hands.
Zhou Yao frowned, tears welling up in his eyes.
Wu Ming drew a red sword from her umbrella, then pointed it directly at Zhou Yao. The sharp blade was close to his throat; just a little more, and it would be enough to leave Zhou Yao no chance of survival. Wu Ming said coldly:
"Then I ask you, did you ever truly love me? Even just a little?"
Zhou Yao, even at this moment, looked at her gently:
"If I say every moment with you was sincere, would you believe me?"
Wu Ming was agitated, every word carrying a heavy weight:
"Then why, from the moment I entered the Zhou Family, did you never once visit me?"
Zhou Yao gave a bitter laugh; he moved even closer to the sword tip, and blood slowly trickled from his throat. Wu Ming quickly retracted the sword.
Zhou Yao looked at Wu Ming with deep affection:
"Whatever I say now, you won't believe me, will you?"
"Yes, I don't believe you."
Zhou Yao took Wu Ming's hand, the emotions of several hundred years replaying in his eyes:
"Wu Ming, what must I do for you to believe me?"
Wu Ming gave a bitter laugh, casting aside his hand:
"Die. Only your death will make me believe."
Wu Ming knew full well that Zhou Yao had been fleeing for hundreds of years to survive; how could he now be willing to exchange his death for her trust?
But what Wu Ming never expected actually happened. As soon as she finished speaking, Zhou Yao destroyed his last fragment of Soul.
Wu Ming seemed unable to believe her eyes, dropping her sword and rushing forward as if to hold Zhou Yao back. Wu Ming's hands embraced Zhou Yao, but his Soul had vanished; in her arms was only an endless void.
Wu Ming screamed loudly, a scream that seemed to come from the depths of her heart:
"Zhou Yao... why are you so foolish? Haven't you been the one fleeing for hundreds of years? Why... why is it not like that this time?"
I ran over there in pain; I truly couldn't believe my eyes. Zhou Yao had actually used his death to prove his innocence.
Wu Ming wailed in despair; one look was enough to know she no longer had any will to fight.
Gou Ming frowned, a powerful surge of Demonic Power gathering in his palm, then he struck Wu Ming with a palm:
"Useless. I've helped you until now, and just for a man, you want to stop fighting."
Seeing the surge of power about to reach Wu Ming, I could only manage to shout:
"Look out..."
"Aaaa!"
I thought Wu Ming had been killed by him, but somehow Wang You had taken that palm strike for her.
Wu Ming turned and supported Wang You:
"What are you doing? Do you not want to live?"
Wang You looked at her weakly:
"Wu Ming... thank you for bringing me into this world. I always argued with you, but in my heart, I have long considered you my sister. I know exactly what kind of person Gou Ming is, which is why I repeatedly forced you to follow his words. This life was given to me by you; now I return it to you, as if no one owes anyone anymore."
With that, Wang You vanished into nothingness. Wu Ming had lost her closest people. It was precisely this that made Wu Ming see Gou Ming's true face clearly.
Grandfather was still trapped in the Grand Formation, unaware of Zhou Yao's death. At this moment, my indignation reached its peak.
Gou Ming used all the Demonic Power he possessed, trying to force the formation to become stronger. Grandfather, Fourth Uncle, the Old Blind Man, and Zhang Sheng were all severely injured.
Seeing this, Gou Ming used his Demonic Power to pull me towards him, laughing:
"Chu Ling... do you know what relationship you and your Grandfather have?"
I clutched my neck, struggling in vain, while Grandfather, hearing Gou Ming's words, also became suspicious and distracted.
Gou Ming laughed, his laughter echoing like the sound of hell:
"That year, Zhou Yao's mother didn't just give birth to him; she gave birth to two sons. Because the Zhou Family rules only allowed one to be kept, she chose to drown you. But Zhou Hai went against the family rules, exchanging a fragment of Zhou Yao's Soul for your chance to enter Reincarnation. It was precisely because of this that Wu Ming and Yin Xiang mistook you for Zhou Yao."
It turned out that Grandfather and I had a Bloodline Connection, and Zhou Yao was my older brother.
Why? Why did they only tell me the truth when I was on the verge of death?
Gou Ming looked at me in surprise:
"You have no Heart Demon? You don't hate them?"
Hate? What reason did I have to hate? If I hadn't personally experienced those things, what reason did I have to hate?
Grandfather looked at me, his joyful eyes flashing briefly.
